Spurs were never going to get anywhere near equal return regardless. At some point, a team is going to get fed up with hearing about how they screwed up a situation horribly and wronged a player when said player's dumbass "camp" is clearly the one steering the ship into the ground. Well, it's probably the realization that you have a top 3 player in the world and if you want to get anything close to value for him, then you have to try and repair a relationship that will either allow him to dump his representation and get on the right page or cooperate with his public comments and actions so you can trade him for value. His side has been leaking garbage for weeks about he only wants LA and he won't sign with anyone else. They've been doing everything to weaken Kawhi's trade value and force him out of town. It's about time the Spurs redirected some heat at an agency group that thinks it's working in the NFL and holding a player out of training camp is an option.
