This just keeps getting weirder.

Called it
A 100 pages ago I said Clippers was the desired destination but cats here are jealous.
You are assuming I've read this entire 433+ page thread. I'm haven't tbh.
Trade is incoming tbh. If the Spurs are leaking this, they know that the relationship is about to end.
I said that before the draft.
So what?
The plot is looking much more murky for Kawhi. What a shame. This looks to be a very expensive lesson for the young man.
I'm not really seeing much fault on the Spurs here.........beyond the Mills and Gasol contracts.
It seems like a standoff and I'd bet on the Spurs to hold steadier than a 27 yr old sole client of Impact Sports. There have been some real bone-headed moves from his "group."
Kawhi is the one over playing his hand, not the Spurs.
If that's the truth you tell him to come to camp so that he retires and loses out on $20.9 million.
It's a lazy take and troll. Yeah 70 year old white coach with military background can't get along with twenty-something black guy.
Welp lets give a warm welcome to Tobias Harris! He needs a thread, perhaps the Haberdashery of Harris?
To be honest, this story explains a lot about what's been going on. I'm sure there are petty excuses that Kawhi's group can come up with about how Pop runs the show or how the Spurs organization is too strict or even misdiagnosis. But hiding from the Spurs is a low that is inexplicable. I've never heard of a player under contract hiding from an organization. It was odd that he was rehabbing in NY to begin with, but once this story comes into play along with Pop's comments from way back, it's clear that Kawhi had become unpredictable and dealing with him was a combustible situation.
thanks
Michael Wright "leaked" this, not the Spurs FO.
What would the Spurs have to gain from leaking this? It gives them even less leverage.
With whom? for what crap?
Nah, seems to me like they are gonna hardball it with thee gots: "You said you're close to 100%, see you in training camp, then"..
that guy, I followed him when he was on the Magic, he's not good.
All actions are justified because Pop sounded sarcastic and Tony said his injury was worse. Spurs are just mean.![]()
You may be right, but this one makes it seem like something Mike Wright has known about for a long time and is choosing to reveal now. The big question is, why "bottle up a lot of wild Kawhi/Spurs stories?" What kind of reporter holds back juicy scoops?
Agreed. This doesn't help them save face either. It's a bat signal to future stars: if you don't stay in line, we'll embarrass you.
Not a good look tbh. Shaq trashed the Lakers and Kobe on his way out. He still got his number retired and a statue outside of Staples. The Lakers know how to treat stars, even if the star trashed them publicly. Probably a major reason why Lebron left $50 million on the table to play with a non-playoff unproven roster on a multi-year deal. Surprised the out of me.![]()
Done deal, I have receipts![]()
You didn't say it was his preferred destination. You said it was a done deal and he was on a plane heading there.
6'4 with a 6'10 wingspan. Not an "on the ball" offensive player and capable of handling three positions defensively. Stick him at SF alongside a couple shooters in the backcourt and he'll be just fine.
Spurs dont know how to treat modern stars tbh
