Just listened to the Chris Carter clip. That was the most horrible flop job of a defense of Kawhi I have ever heard.

If the Spurs are paying him $20 million and he's sitting with an injury, does he not think San Antonio has a right to watch him workout? And if Kawhi is using his hiding as a "power move" to some how show San Antonio they aren't in control of the situation, it was really a coward move. One thing I do agree about that clip is that Kawhi has lost all the good will that he earned up to this point in his career. He now has to be looked at as unreliable.

I actually don't think they will trade him before training camp. They are going to have to play him some games just to showcase his value. He has a terrible reputation but a lot of NBA teams would be willing to take a risk on him if shows he can still play at an MVP level. I still remember teams being interested in Artest after the Malice in the Palace brawl.

That is a valid point. When mike Wright and mic e beadle finally let loose it was like spurs gave the go ahead and finally their side of the story is leaking out. If they dont trade him and Kawhi does not repair his reputation on and off the court next year his whole career could be put in jeopardy.

I feel the Lakers are implicit in all these rumors. They leak out to ESPN who they are interested in and then ESPN complies by pushing the rumor. Both sides benefit from it. Obviously with the media they want the Lakers to be great so they put a lot of pressure on teams to trade their stars to LA. This is the reason why the media is starting to get frustrated with the Spurs because the Spurs refuse to comply with their demands. The media has succeeded in the past pushing teams to trade their assets to the Lakers. It worked with the Magic in 2012 with Dwight and the Grizzlies in '08 with Gasol. Some teams will stand up to the media scrutiny and some will give in.
