What I am saying is simple. If you are an AMERICAN CITIZEN, then this is your country. End of story. It is a NATIONAL holiday, not a RACE holiday. I am not upset with him not celebrating it. I am upset with him making 4th of July a race issue. It clearly is NOT. Even if there were no independence day and we were all tea drinking limeys, who just so happened to not do anything about the ownership of slaves, it still wouldn't have been a race issue. Racism/slavery is completely separate from the birth of a nation. The reality is that the USA has moved on from those days, and for some reason, people want to remain stuck in that quagmire of horse . Get over yourselves and move the on already.

I personally don't give a about rebel flags or statues. That is in the past and will not be here again. I am pretty sure that a vast majority of us agree on that. We won't let it happen. Statues, flag and holiday removals won't change a damn thing. So why waste your energy on something that most everybody already knows? It makes no sense and it is a complete and total waste of time. If anything their removal will trigger a backlash of support for the wrong side. Just let the racists die out already. Don't give them a reason to spread their vitriol that can be publicly supported.

As soon as those are gone, you'll have a more valid argument that Walker should move on. Otherwise, you need to be telling the confederacy worshipers to do the same thing with equal fervor.

I see things simply. I don't recognize Walkers skin color at all. What I do recognize is the hard work he put in to get where he is now.
