Kawhi just needs to show teams he’s healthy. If you don’t want to face Pop and co and have talks, at least leak a video of him playing 5 v 5 to show teams he’s healthy.

That alone would help his trade value, help him get out of SA and also save face instead of having to call Pop/RC to get yourself out of SA.
What are they gonna do? Have Uncle Dennis put on a Draymond jersey and have nephew blow by him?

Laker fans think they can puke anything out and that will work to get Leonard in a trade.
reminds me of all the ST trade ideas where we would trade bonner/blair/neal for an all star

If Kawhitter is with the Spurs still next season andclaims injury this year I seriously doubt the Spurs will be so passive in doing their own evaluation.
Agreed. Spurs never went that route last season because they were still protecting Kawhi under the assumption that he wanted to remain a Spur...which was the right thing to do at the time.

With everything that has gone down this summer, if Kawhi fails to report and tries to play the injury card again, Spurs will be much more inclined to make him prove it.

Won’t Murray be offended if the Spurs traded for Lowry after all that fuss about Murray being the starter for years to come? Read countless times the Spurs want to remain compe ive on Pop’s two last years so DeRozan may still be an option, though it’ll raise a lot of eyebrows given his reputation as an iso-heavy volume scorer with mediocre defense. Not sure if this is preferable over Covington and Saric but definitely the deal one would probably make to create the semblance of staying compe ive. The Spurs also almost traded for Valanciunas before and RC is probably still infatuated with him so they’ll probably want him in exchange for Mills/Gasol. Outside of Anunoby and Siakam they don’t have a lot of desirable assets.

As an aside, the Spurs have always wanted Stanley Johnson from the Pistons. Whether it’s true or not, I’m sure he ends up a Spur one way or another. Now would be a good time to make a play for him.

Murray is atrocious with his jumpsuit, Spurs are playing 4 on 5 when he’s on that end of the floor

... and as we’ve seen in the CBA there’s a mechanism for enforcing an independent evaluation. He either gets evaluated and passes in which he either shows up or holds out and loses free agency rights or he fails and kisses goodbye to any half decent contract.

Haha! That's what I thought. Or even some very recent suggestions for getting "value" for Kawhi.

Wouldn’t be opposed to Lowry/Anunoby/picks. I think Kyle’s deal is “only” $28M and he needs to hit incentives to reach $30M+. The contract is only two years and he grades out pretty well by advanced metrics. He also apparently had some desire to play here last offseason, which has to count for something in light of this whole Kawhi fiasco. Ive seen stat models that have Toronto projected within a game of Boston, so it makes some sense for them to try to go for it in the East in 2019.

I’d have no interest in anything built around DD or JV.

538 thinks Lowry will still be productive for the next two seasons.

I still give it a < 5% chance of happening but all of the recent moves seem to suggest that the front office is either hoping/planning to make amends with Leonard which means likely offering the supermax tbh....

Roster makes a lot more sense if you consider a healthy Kawhi at the center of it tbh....

...ah, all this his giving that fraud the benefit of the doubt that there effectively was an injury...bacause the more the time pass and the more his disgusting plan is gonna be exposed, its coming out more than probable that the entire injury thing was just nothing worth preventing Kiwhi from playing...and just part of the plan to let him act as it was something real. Unfortunately, that would mean that Kiwhi was an integral part of the fraud...not only with his mute behavior but also with his Holliwood acting...
The media already backpedaled after blasting Tony Parker saying his comments wer the last straw, bc they knew he was very very likely to sign elsewhere.

It wouldn't surprised he exaggerated and faked the injury. His camp already admitted that they were hiding him from Spurs personnel when he was rehabbing...

Yeah, one way or another I don’t think they’re planning on tanking. Spurs are still a week away from potentially putting $221M on the table. Hard to walk away from that if you’re Uncle Dennis, not that I’d make that offer personally.

I agree which is why I said once the draft passed that I dont expect a trade until have 7/16 since that is the first date SA can make a contract offer.

I really hope SA is not truly banking on making things work, but I can see them doing that.

Per @LegionHoopsRoss, "the Raptors may try and move either Kyle Lowry or DeMar DeRozan in a trade for Kawhi Leonard reports the Washington Post."

I why nobody has asked Silver about the Kawhi drama and how he feels about it. Couldn’t he step in and do something?

I don't think this has legs, unless the "All-Star" PATFO has on speed dial is a forward. I'm certainly not confident that DeRozan is going to make the Spurs into contenders.

I'd prefer OG and Ibaka (1 yr left) over DeMarr tbh. I hate DeMarr and hate Lowry even more. Both are disgusting players.

I am among the few that still thinks this is an option. I will belive a trade will happen when I see it.

But I have to recognize the likelihood that Uncle Dennis is worse than he seems.

I'd need both OG and Siakam in a deal to even think about it..if the latter can figure out how to shoot, he's a long-term starter in this league.

Well Pop said they want to remain compe ive. There's a difference between compe ive and contenders. I do not think the they Spurs are interested either. Wonder about the leak tho. It's not a good idea for the Raptors to disgruntle the duo b4 the season starts.
