I mean, now crazy are people

Talking about a guys potential when in the same article they linked people were excited he was finally able to shoot the ball from further than 5 feet??? Am I taking crazy pills.

I had a PHI fan tell me on Twitter that they didn’t want to “sell low” on Fultz. As if getting a legit MVP caliber player was selling LOW for a guy that MIGHT be a good player
They’re understandably high on him since he hasn’t given them a full season. YouTube highlights give anyone a lot of false optimism. They’ll probably lose infatuation after a full season of mediocre results.

Every team has those fans tbh, regardless of sport. They're called homers.

Still, not trading Fultz for Kawhi because he MIGHT turn into a good player.

So you think adding All-Star Fultz bridges the 4-1 playoff defeat gap when Boston is adding All-Star Kyrie and All-Star Hayward ?
In 4 of the 5 games it was decided on the last few possessions, we were naive in our execution and we payed for it. But bar the first game they did not blow us out in any game, Embiid was also playing with a mask until the last game which he got 29/13 and it clearly impacted him. I'm confident in our ability to take them should we get production from Fultz and Embiid and Simmons continue their rise into supers om.

I’m high on Fultz. But how can you be SO high on Fultz that you think getting a known Superstar for a possible one while keeping your other two younger players who are better than him right now too is a bad thing?

Do you just think that Tatum and Brown are going to not develop while PHI young guys continue to ascend?

To be fair, the Spurs are peddling someone with questionable health and commitment. Hard to mortgage young assets for someone who’s going to cause trouble to the organization. Who’s to say he won’t pull this crap on a new team?

Most people dont grasp the risk of losing him after 1 year. You end up looking stupid giving away SIGNIFICANT young assets only for Kawhi to give the deuce the next year. Spurs wouldn't do that for a top player unless they showed sincerity to sign an extension or actually do sign it.

So they hope and pray Fultz gets as good as.................Kawhi ?

Hey, I’m not going to give you this lottery ticket because the jackpot IF I win is $1,000,000 and they winning ticket you are trying to trade me is only worth $999,999.
Why do we seem to be the only ones who get this?

This should be straightforward: If the package doesn't begin with Fultz and Covington, there is no deal.

Anything less and the Spurs would literally be left without a single perimeter scorer/play maker in the starting lineup and no one with perceived star potential.

I don't care how much is conspiring to drive down Leonard's value, you don't trade a top 5 player for that.

Nope he's training with Hanlen a skills coach in California. Brett mentioned a few weeks ago it was likely he'd skip the Summer to continue to correct his shot with his personal trainer. Brett Brown has been very optimistic when discussing Fultz and so has Hanlen with multiple tweets like
    https://twitter.com/DrewHanlen/statu...88798457761793
every few weeks. Brown said this yesterday
“I have tremendous optimism and confidence that he’s going to have a of a year next year. I believe that completely and just really excited to see him with us and bring him back into our program on a full-time basis.”
Why are you taking these words for gospel? This is a negotiation. Both sides are trying to leverage the other and there's no guarantee a trade gets made between the two. He's not going to come out to the media and insinuate otherwise.

Hey, question, is Fultz still hurt? He’s not getting any burn on Summer League. Normally someone who hasn’t played most of the year might want to play there to get in the rhythm of things. And what is up with that jump shot? Form looked great in college, what’s with that funky looking jumper?

    True... true.
And then there's the Paul George scenario that gives teams hopes also.
People also thought Westbrook was a lock to leave also.

And we are talking about Oklahoma City here...

Kawhi's camp has come out and said he'd strongly consider resigning in Philly. With Kawhi seemingly no longer that high on LA and Philly being able to offer the most money if they trade for him, seems like a good bet he'd stay.

if there's no flutz i'd probably prefer a lakers package with ingram to a pure saric/covington offer. the sixers deal is better short term without much to be excited about going forward. bolden and another pick instead of fultz? i dont know. but saric/covington isn't going to get this done
Don't the Sixers have Miami's 2020 pick? That projects to be a lottery pick.

It’s pretty damn simple IMO although I fully understand what teams are doing. I think they are stupid and will end up losing their jobs over it eventually, but they are playing the “leverage” game vs just doing a deal that they know will tremendously help their team.

They know Fultz is worth Kawhi, but because Kawhi is doing damage to the Spurs they are TRYING to not have to include Fultz. Its stupid and silly, but that is how business works sometimes.

But big picture, there is zero downside for PHI in terms of truly harming their future. Let’s just make two assumptions: Fultz reaches his ceiling and becomes James Harden and Kawhi leaves PHI after one year.

I think everyone would agree that is worst case scenario by far. Forgetting that Fultz becoming Harden is very unlikely and that Kawhi seems to be willing to give PHI a shot to re-sign him, if that happens, PHI is still in a tremendous spot.

Fultz didn’t play this year and PHI had a great season. They would still have virtually all the same assets (especially if the trade included Wilson Chandler vs RoCo) as this year, their two MAIN cornerstones and still a ton of cap space to replace Kawhi with another player(s).

So even if worst case scenario played out, PHI would have a reasonable path to still being an NBA finals team all things considered.

Would it suck if that happened to them? For sure, but it’s really unlikely and even if it did they are still a very good team.

The upside is obviously franchise altering.

Brett has always been a very positive guy, i'm not sure he can just flat out say "This kid is ing trash, i can't believe ownership is making me hold onto him for Kawhi ing Leonard"

I have no idea man. Maybe I’m clueless to Kawhi’s real value right now. Maybe a year without Kawhi was long enough for people to forget how dominate he is when healthy... best perimeter defender in the league, back to back dpoy and on top of that can carry a whole team offensively. Best two way player in the game. Runner up in MVP voting, All NBA... for Saric and Covington. Not a star but role players. The league out they gaht dam mind.

The fit of Fultz with Kawhi/Simmons/Embiid isn't even good
