Lebron has 2 more years tops at this level. This is his 16th season. They also haven't surrounded him with anything in the off season that would lead me to believe they're anything but a 2nd round team(if they don't play GS in the first round). When lebron falls off after the next 2 years, what happens then? I'm sure the league will give him a Kobe tour when he reitres. That is if he doesn't decide to sign with the spurs after 4 seasons.
If the Lakers blow next off-season, and there's a good chance they will, given that the team makes no sense this year and they have a lot of FAs to replace next year, then this is the last years of Kobe Bryant all over again. Massively overpaying for an aging star, hamstringing their ability to do anything at all. Plus they're probably going to jettison Ball, meaning another of their top picks goes bye-bye, like Russell.
As a Spursfan I'll admit I'm going to be a bit envious this season that our non contender team isn't going to be as good as Lakerfans non contender team

Not envious of them at all. I could never root for a team that has a bunch of divas and loves to have drama. This Kawhi drama is what's considered the norm in LA. I can't imagine being a fan of that team and living through the Kobe-Shaq drama and then all the drama Kobe brought afterwards. Guess what they will also have Lebron drama .
