Here we go again. God this fanbase is ing submissive. These are the type of people who would be submissive to a with AIDS shoving a in his/her ass/vagina with a gun to their heads (with 100% intention on killing them after) and just taking it rather than even attempting to fight it off.

I could see Toronto trading Derozan for a 1 year rental but why would they want to trade their young players as well?

Any trade machine calculation should include Brandon Paul. Spurs going to throw him in. Danny makes more sense for the salaries to work.

Because Kawhi is a top-4 player in the world and DeRozan is a top-20 at best, and realistically more like a top-30 if we’re being honest. You have to give to get. If they somehow convince Kawhi to stay past this season, it’s a massive fleece by Toronto.

What they have going on up there with that roster is not going to win any championships any time soon. If Philly gets Kawhi, Toronto immediately drops to the third best team in the East and they become irrelevant, while being stuck with DeRozan’s albatross for the next 3 years. If they land Kawhi, good chance they are better than Philly, or at least on par with them. They’d be re ed not to dump DeRozan’s contract for a top-4 player. It’s the Spurs who would likely say no to this deal, unless it’s a last resort, then RC may get desperate and panic.

I grew up in SA but I've also lived in LA since 1973, so I feel no restraint when it comes to this subject . . .

Hey, BB, remember that time we were at the Santa Monica Hooters and Minh (Slayer Minh I believe) was getting into it with Laker fans? These Laker fans would pull out the chest part of their Laker jerseys with two hands like they wearing falsies and then they'd lean right into us. I didn't care but Minh was a pretty volatile dude.

That SM Hooters had this bathroom that was down a level and isolated -- no place to run down there. So Minh heads down there and these two Laker fans look at each other and nod and head down right behind him. I'm feeling a sense of civic obligation (and possibly other sources of courage) so I feel I must head down there in order to help (or at least do ent the happenings if necessary). Thankfully, nothing happened and I don't think Minh was even aware of any of this. Were you there that time, I can't remember?
Yeah Laker fan was salty in '04.

DJ (young talent on a rookie contract), Pau (expiring contract & can mentor CAT) and next year's first (probably low twenties) for Jimmy Buckets.
Then flip Kawhi to the Celtics for Kyrie and the kings top one protected first round pick. Probably ask for a second first rounder also.

    Next year's starting lineup:
    PG - Kyrie
    SG - Danny
    SF - Jimmy
    PF - Rudy
    C - LA

Plus we get to flip a low 20's pick for a low lottery pick.

Its amazing to me people still are under the illusion that the Spurs aren't going to get royaly ed no matter what they do with Kawhi. Why are people having such a hard time understanding this?

I said I could see Toronto dealing Derozan, I just don't see them wanting to include guys like OG or their other young players.

The deals you keep parading involving Philly are even more of a 'fleece' tbh.

People have to stop including Pau in trades. This team has a grand total of 2 bigs (and Davis "Red Mamba" Bertans)

No doubt. Spurs are getting fleeced either way. But these trade proposals are at least somewhat realistic given the cir stances. With Kawhi likely being a 1-yr rental for whichever team he's traded to, you're just not going to get a great return on him.

Spurs could always just tell him tough ; that he's under contract and make him play out the season, but I really don't see them going that direction, given the media -storm and distraction it would create. Not to mention the tension in the locker room. Think they wanna get something done before Training Camp.

Watching Anunoby right now on ESPN2. TOR vs DEN SL. He looks like a solid prospect tbh. Man's body at 20 years old. 6'8 235 lbs with a 7'6 wingspan. Athletic. Turns 21 this month. If a deal with TOR were to be made (which I still think is extremely unlikely), he'd better be a part of the deal.

Kawhi probably never was a locker room presence before. Perhaps he would just remain another piece of furniture. That wouldn't cause much tension. I am beginning to think that PATFO might hang on to him long enough - possibly up to the trade deadline - for him to resurrect his value.

Laker fan in LA did not take 2003 well. Portland and Sacramento never made their team cry, best believe they hated the Spurs after that series. And look at the way Shaq talked about the Spurs? You mean when he called them a WNBA team and made up lies about David Robinson?
What about the praise heaped on Duncan and even Pop despite the occasional Hack a Shaq.
