People are too enamored with youth/potential.

Yeah, obviously DeRozan isn't Kawhi and he has his flaws but what are the chances any of the young guys that have been tied to a Kawhi trade develop into a player of DeRozan's caliber? It's really no different than PHI not wanting to give up Fultz for a Top 3 player because of potential. I'm reading some of you would prefer Saric, Covington, and MIA 1st Rounder which is insane to me.

The Spurs system/culture/development is a real thing too. It's not just some corny myth. DeRozan would get better in SA. DeRozan-LMA and hope one of the young guys can become that third fringe star (White). I'll take it given the absolute awful situation Kawhitter has put this franchise in.

Honestly, there is no one in Raptors that makes sense now or for the future. They have no promising young player or a really good role player on a great deal. They overpaid to keep their core. Their two stars are not just overpaid but also unreliable.

OG has to be one of the more exciting players we could get

Don't disagree with that sentiment but if I'm taking DeRozan I want a potentially high draft pick too because otherwise you're stuck with DeRozan/Aldridge playoff teams that aren't going to take you anywhere (not hating on either.)

He was showing signs of being an impact sop re before getting hurt that season. His length and instincts suggested he would be a good project. I mean, he's still not that good, but has promise.

Watching Anunoby right now on ESPN2. TOR vs DEN SL. He looks like a solid prospect tbh. Man's body at 20 years old. 6'8 235 lbs with a 7'6 wingspan. Athletic. Turns 21 this month. If a deal with TOR were to be made (which I still think is extremely unlikely), he'd better be a part of the deal.

Game-high 22 pts on 9/16 shooting (not counting the last heave to run out the clock). Guy already physically looks like a young Ron Artest at 20 years old.
