Obviously Carter doesn't understand what is going on other than what he is fed by Dennis, who obviously doesn't understand the salary cap rules and what is needed to make the trade happen.
He's probably not getting traded to the Lakers until December at the soonest, so if he doesn't want to play in S.A., he'll have to settle on a trade elsewhere, which looks like it could be Toronto.

Kawhi will get endorsement wherever he plays if he’s not damaged goods. He had the “Kawhi Tho” commercial and brand getting legs. If he re-established himself as MVP and IMO could again be the favorite if he stayed in SA..other $$ will come.
$221M is the easiest quarter Billion he can make....there’s no making it back.
Like if Kawhi didn't have a history of injuries, completely disregarding the possibility of having another throughout those four years.
