I don't like DD but some positives spin...
SPURS will make him play defense and Chip can refine his 3 ball and though his contract is awful you have him for 2 years then he is a valuable expiring in year 3...
    Other than that LOL
Yall turned Kawhi, Kyle Anderson and Parker in to DD, Beli and Dante Cunningham...

No news of him reaching out to the front office and his teammates telling them he’ll stay. On the other hand, lots of news coming from his camp saying he wants out and prefers Los Angeles. So which is it? Are you saying the Spurs lacked the diligence in fixing the relationship?
No, I'm saying the way things stand today could be different from the way things will stand tomorrow.

I just feel like Spurs fans are so blinded by their anger towards Kawhi that they can't assess this situation rationally. They'd rather settle for a less than optimal scenario if it ensures that Kawhi will suffer than gamble for the optimal scenario, which involves having to mend the fences with Kawhi.

Look. I like this deal. It's a lot better than any other offer out there on the table. But if I had my way, I'd rather play the season out, get 60 wins and make the WCF, then offer Leonard the supermax the following year. I guarantee you he won't walk away from that.

MAYBE so but if you submitted a trade of those three Spurs for that return... Even 2K declines that deal...

Rationally that all makes sense, but unfortunately Kawhi isn't rational...

If OG is not included, this would be a bad deal. I get that this is probably our best offer but I rather roll the dice with Kawhi this year instead of a package without any true prospect.

Kawhi and his group forced this. This is also overall a win for small market teams given the cir stance. If they would have traded him to LA it sets the precedent that superstars can force their way to large market before the end of their contract. PATFO showed Kawhi it wouldn’t work.

The fans aren't the ones refusing to play and demanding a trade. Your posts seem to imply that if this board had a more positive at ude about Kawhi everything would be ok.

If Spurs are this close to trading Kawhi, there is no repairing the relationship.

Pretty sure Spurs FO wanted Kawhi a Spur for his whole career but this hailstorm of BS just won't stop pouring down and they feel it can't be fixed.

Not blaming the Spurs for pulling the trigger and hats off once again to RC and Pop for making this happen. Although DD doesn't have the same caliber as Kawhi, he'll make the Spurs more compe ive than last year. Regarding Kawhi, I wish him all the best and if he wants to play with the Lakers after the Raptors, that's beyond the FO's control right now.

The FO did an excellent job taking control of the situation and in return, will get a solid SF who is in his prime and who could still improve. Will we beat the Dubs with an LMA/Murray/DD lineup? Probably not, but by giving up the team cancer, the Spurs have given themselves a shot.

So why haven’t they changed over the course of the summer? Why now when his trade request is being accommodated?
