make no mistake Masai absolutely demolished RC in this deal. Spurs were eventually going to have to rebuild anyway but this was an opportunity to save years on the rebuild. Now you're looking at a slow death march to mediocrity and then another 5 years back to respectability.

Meanwhile, worst case scenario the raptors get to free up 30 million next year and kickstart their rebuild early. Best case scenario they have a puncher's chance at the le and retain their top two young players anyway.

Would have rather had the 10th pick(Mikal Bridges) from Phil and players or the Clippers offer on draft night. Phil still wanted Leonard on draft night but didn't want to trade Fultz but most likely would have moved the 10th pick (which Phil didn't want to keep) Saric and Covington on draft night had the spurs put out the offer.

I understand why the Spurs made the trade..there's no way Pop was going to coach a rebuilding team in his final years, which would have been the case had they done the Lakers deal(if the Lakers were even offering Ingram)..

Philly never offered Fultz, Boston wasn't going to give anything up..the only deal they may have missed out on was the Clippers package..

It'll make them much better than last year and they don't lose dignity by sending him to LA, which is probably all they wanted..this team will be unwatchable with DeRozan and Gay, but it can't be aesthetically worse than last year's team

At the end of the day, Kawhi and his team killed the Spurs..it's the NBA, the players have the power, even when it seems like they don't..

They missed out all the deals they did not try to make. They were not actively looking to make trade offers to other teams on draft night and so they missed any potential trades that they could have made on draft night.
Spurs dragged their feet too long in deciding to trade Kawhi. Total mess up by PATFO but the homers here will not accept it.
