Pau might start, but Poeltl will play more minutes.

I think it's too early to make these predictions, there could be more moves coming. The Spurs might be willing to punt on next summer's cap space and trade Pau, essentially an expiring contract, for someone with 2 years left. If Batum's abomination of a deal had one fewer year on it I could see something centered around Pau/Mills for Walker/Batum.

What Pop probably has in mind:

    Murray
    Mills
    DeRosa
    Gay
    Aldridge

Good luck with that ball movement, or 3pt shooting, or defense. Who is supposed to be the defensive ace of that lineup? Murray? Are we really going to put Murray on the likes of Durant, Lebron, Giannis and Kawhi? If not, are we putting DeRozan or Gay?

    Starters
    Murray
    walker
    derozan
    Bertans
    Aldridge

    bench

    white
    mills/Ginobili
    bellineli/Ginobili
    gay/metu
    poeltl/Gasol

Hopefully white is as advertised, as I think that bench can really get back to playing “beautiful game” basketball. Starters can be some Aldridge post ups, Demar pick n roll and hopefully Murray progresses and his 3 point shooting increases. Bertans can stretch the floor

    Murray, White, Forbes
    Mills, Bellinelli, Walker
    DeRozan, Manu, Paul
    Gay, Bertans, Cunningham
    Aldridge, Gasol, Poeltl

What a horribly constructed roster, tbh.

Praying Murray has developed a consistent outside shot, I’d put Murray as 3D and let DeRozan create pick and roll.

    DeRozan/White
    Bellineli/Walker/Mills/Forbes
    Murray/Manu/Paul
    Gay/Bertrans/Cunningham
    LMA/Gasol/Poetl

Depending on situation, Gasol/Poetl can start as 5 and LMA 4, Gay coming from the bench. What to do with Metu? Or let Paul go? Then Spurs light in SF position

Spurs need some shooting in the SL otherwise it's gonna be a grindfest to start every game. this is what the SL should be imo:

    Murray
    White
    DeRozan
    Bertans
    Aldridge
With what we have to work with, I actually kind of like that lineup, even though I am not wild about DeMar as a 3 on the defensive end.

Surely we will make some move to shore up a the SF position...?

18-19, record just before the break.

This might be the most athletic team we've ever fielded.

    Agreed

    C- Pau Gasol
    PF- LaMarcus Aldridge
    SF- DeMar DeRozan
    SG- Marco Belinelli
    PG- Dejounte Murray

    Bench:

    C- Jacob Poeltl
    PF- Rudy Gay
    PF- Davis Bertans
    SF- Dante Cunningham
    SG- Manu Ginobili
    SG- Lonnie Walker
    PG- Patty Mills
    PG- Derrick White

    I like that lineup.
That starting lineup isn't stopping anyone, even with Gasol and Aldridge shutting down in the paint and Murray being an above average defender. DeRozen would have to improve to be an be an below average defender to make that lineup work.

White may be the better option. He projects as a better defender than Belinelli (it's pretty easy to be) and is a plus shooter.
