If healthy, Kawhi could seriously take that Raptors team to the NBA finals. Not easy to leave a team the season right after getting to the finals, tbh. Much less when you have 220 millions extra motives to stay put.
Toronto can't offer him the supermax, only the Spurs could have.

I thought that by trading him, any team that got him, could offer him the Supermax.

Nope, the supermax is only for the team that drafted the player unless he gets traded while on his rookie contract. So that 35% cap max salary that worked out to five years, $221 million is gone. Toronto can now offer five years, $190 million next summer since the Bird Rights transferred, while everyone else can only offer four years, $140 million.

The whole point of the supermax was to keep big market teams from being able to poach small market stars, so it wouldn't make sense for it to be transferable the way Bird Right are for instance.

Well right now think i would prefer watch a team with LeBron, Rondo, Ingram, kuzma, hart..... than the Rockets

Both teams have no chance vs the warriors

I don't get offended over anything, but I'm getting close when Lakers fans have the audacity to mention Ingram, Kuzma and some named Hart as some type of intriguing combination of players

yeah, this is probably the smartest move by maginka to date. im actually surprised they resist the urge to gut the roster to bring 2 superstars this summer which is a very Lakers move. that shows you they (including lebron) truly believe the kids upside is worth keeping and if it’s not enough they ‘ll have a max cap space next season to entice anorher all star.

lakers are beating the spurs at their own game. smart FA decisions (1 yr deals) and finding solid picks in late rounds.

For sure. People were laughing at the Magic and Pelinka hire a year ago but they are definitely building a very nice culture there. if it wasn't for Lavar Ball, I'd say they have exceeded expectations to a degree.

LA Flamers are still in good position re Kawhi. In fact better, as now they will have to give up zero if Kwa decides to play it out to FA next summer.

As to the "smart" Pedinka and AIDs move, spare us. Damn good and well all kinds of $$$$ went under the table, even if it was in the form of some Hollywood Studio exec(s) that identify as Laker promising LeBron all kinds of $$$$hit if he joined Team Laker Inc.
