    Spurs fans,

Dear, loyal fans. Today we say goodbye to a player who had minimal skills at best when he joined but left with the idea that he's a superstar - a superstar who sat out an entire season, collected a huge paycheck and then set out to screw the organization that cultivated him from the dirt in which he grew in California. Yes it's true, Kawhi was a talent and a rapid learner. He came in shooting less than stellar from the 3 point line, but became a legitimate threat from there. He was a shaky freethrow shooter as we saw in game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals, but became one of the best in the league at it in such a short time. He only worked with Kobe for a minimal amount of time, maybe even just a phone call or a glance, however he learned how to sit out entire seasons and yet screw the franchise at the same time and demand more than he's actually worth. There's a reason no other team wanted to commit a high salary for many years to him.

Some of you might think, and it's been mentioned here in certain circles that have now moved East (I won't say any nom de plumes) that Kawhi Leonard is a high functioning Autistic. I'm not here to discuss that and it would never be part of our conversation here in San Antonio, we are a classy organization.

We will move on from this brief blip on our 20 year trajectory. We will be stronger for having gone through it. We certainly wish Kawhi well. We also wish the Toronto Raptors well. In fact, we wish them the success they had last season where they finished atop the East. At the same time though, we are excited to move foward with the group of young players, and Manu. So we hope you continue to root for the Spurs, and if you bought a Kawhi Leonard jersey or any gear with Kawhi's name or number in the past year, you should be able to still wear it around the house.

Danny Green will be missed. He was one Kawhi Leonard free throw from having a Finals MVP. That illustrates how unstable that award really is, how fluky, I suppose. At least since around 2012 or so. Gary Neal could have won it. Imagine that.

It's bizarre how the Kawhi era ended here in SA. Just never thought it was possible for him to go out in a more disgraceful way than even Dennis Rodman.

Unlikely but I'm hoping he can still change his mind and thought about returning/signing with the Spurs next offseason. I mean if he realizes the mess they did and the hate and pressure he'll receive, the only way to redeem himself is to go back with Spurs. Who knows - it's still very unlikely though but given a chance, he'll be forgiven.

I know. It's still hurts. But man, hate to see if Kawhi suddenly plays like pre-injury Kawhi then he goes to LA. Maybe if OG Anunoby is included, I'm quite happy with the trade. Just can't see soon how the Spurs will replace Kawhi especially on defensive end. Remember when we lost Bowen, RJ took place and we know how it goes on defensive end. Just really hard to swallow at the moment.

Without Kawhi it's Kobe 5>Duncan 4. Show some goddamn appreciation for 5-6 years of actually watchable Spurs basketball. The first wave of les ('03, '05, and '07) were as exciting as watching paint dry.

    Show him some love ffs

Players are really going to go at Kawhi mentally. Don't see Raptor players getting his back as long as he disses Toronto. He could have a really tough season.

And Rodman ended up winning 3 more championships with the Bulls. Pop showed he doesn't know how to handle superstar players.

I always had a su ion that Kawhi isn’t a smart man. of a basketball player, but dumb as rocks. I think he has allowed himself to be manipulated and will probably continue to do so for the rest of his career. It will be limiting to his potential and hurt him tremendously. It’s too bad that he isn’t smart enough to realize what’s happening to him. I feel bad for him, but he should have taken control of his own life. I’m sure his days of getting ed over and manipulated are far from over.

What if he comes back next summer, fires his uncle, and to show his dedication/remorse, comes back on the cheap?
