The parallel between them... one offense one defense. Both play there hearts out. Both combo guards. What Patty is to offense is what Smart is on defense...

Smart all day every day. The only knock on him is that he can't shoot.....except that he hit plenty of outside shots when they needed him to these last playoffs (excluding the closeout games of the ECF and that wasn't just him, it was their whole team.)

He's adept at guarding players much bigger than he is and makes all the little plays that help a team win games. He's also a much better passer than Patty.
