Getting out of the situation in San Antonio show how much smart kawhi is, he didn't want to be stuck in this edup team too long like KG was in Minnesota, which is what the Spurs are without Duncan...
they knew what they were doing, but I agree, beneath the pla udes and leaks like "warming up", they must be seething inside that he got sent to the Arctic for a year..
Now the time for excuses and lies is over. This dude has to suck it up and play or he could be getting Jabari Parker money next off-season..

Same thing was reported on the Back to Back podcast. There was a reporter saying that Kawhi is recruiting other NBA players for next off season. Brooklyn was mentioned because they will have an insane amount of cap space available, and if Spurs trained Sean Marks, Nets GM, works it right, he could be looking at Kawhi, Kyrie, and Jimmy Butler right there waiting. Uncle Dennis and Kyrie's Dad are tight, Kyrie and Jimmy Butler have been reported as looking into possibly playing with each other, and Uncle Dennis's businesses are nicely placed in Jersey.

Think of this too ... the Nets have two players to worry about, an 18 million player option for Allan Crabb and a 9+ million qualifier to Russell. If Russell gets a contract offer next off season as a RFA, you just let him go and if Crabb opts in, trade him to a team that wants an expiring contract and pick up some bench help where you need it. But they build this three headed monster of KL, KI, and JB with these players not having to deal with the Knicks or Dolan and keep their draft picks for cheap labor and roster building because none of those guys would have to do sign and trades. It's a crazy thought.
