Becomes all the more important to have shooters in the front court (3, and 4 or 5 depending on how you classify Aldridge) with Murray, DeRozan and Aldridge on the court.
Derozan is not close to Kawhi as a scorer (efficiency and versatility) and logically as a defender, but as an offensive player the difference may not be so great when all is said and done, he looks like a more fluid playmaker, does not have the potential 2way superstar Kawhi obviously, but taking another step on the offensive he could become an offensive superstar

Fortunately Murray is an elite rebounder among guards, placing your forwards 20 to 23 feet from the rim is going to limit your offensive rebounding and second chance opportunities.

The offense will be improved from last season and the defense has taken a hit.

Murray developing more range and consistency with his shot is important obviously.

Too bad there isn't a 3 and D guy left in free agency, the rotation needs one badly.

Maybe they can kidnap Iguodala, he's the type of forward who would work very well in this offense.

Yeah, DeRozan will need to turn the lights on and leave his bedroom at some point.

particularly I prefer players with more defense, with size to not be fully exploited and who can shoot reasonably (33-36%) instead of 6'2 "6'3" guys who can shoot 38-42% but still be negative in general

Spurs was 4th best defensive team without Kawhi. Granted we had Kyle and Danny, but again they were system players Spurs system created to best fit the need. DeRozan is a gym rat and has the athletic tools to improve, even better than Danny and Kyle (no disrespect). Offensively I think LMA/DeRozan will be more complimentary because of DeRozan effective PNR ballhandler, than LMA/Kawhi.

Tbh, Spurs improved with DeRozan esp when he transfers that 100% loyalty to this team and Pops helping him improve as a player. He will be a willing team player unlike Kawhi with his heart elsewhere. I am really excited and expect to be pleasantly surprised with what Pop’s genius can get from this new squad. This is yet another era in Spurs basketball. I will not be surprised if Pops get the next COY after this season

Kawhi wanted first of all just to get out of San Antonio, he lost trust in pop and FO, he feel they not at all can lead winning organization anymore now Duncan is gone and they exposed, he wasn't happy with pop and team direction, he looking back and seeing a lot of underachievers and miss opportunities as a team just because of pop naiveness, stupidity, being full of himself and not caring enough about winning... he just didn't want to caught up too long in this bad, KG Minnesota type situation, which that's what he believes the worth of Pop and his FO now while don't have Timmy to save them...
You understand that you use zero logic in you post?

The Spurs were up by 21 against the Warriors with 7:51 left to go in the 3rd period of the WCF.

What part of that shows that the Spurs couldn't play winning ball?

Kawhi played 9 games the following season with a team that was better than it had been the year before.

LA was having a superb season, they had brought Rudy Gay on board. Dejonte was a defensive stud.

The Spurs have been the most winning team in all professional sports over the last 20 years. How can you compare that to KG, and the mediocrity that surrounded him in Minnesota? Self induced mediocrity I might add. If you remember, KG didn't leave a shred of money for Minny to surround him with any talent..., but that is another story.

Remember as well, the sources close to Kahwi leaked that he didn't want to go to a superteam. He would be perfectly content being the centerpiece to have a franchise build around him...he wanted to be the alpha. This is why he supposedly was perfectly fine with going to the Clippers.

Remember, Kawhi had jumped from doctor to doctor just to get one that would agree with a different diagnosis.

Was Kawhi not already the centerpiece of a winning franchise, being fully featured after TD had departed?

Hadn't the organization made it clear that it was Kawhi's team, even with LA present?

Your argument doesn't pass the litmus test.

Uncle Dennis wanted his prize in LA period, and made excuses to mitigate any negativity to Kawhi's image by trying to put everything on the Spurs organization.

Concocted by Kawhi's group and perpetuated by the media (BSPN).

The latest rumor on Prosportsdaily.Com is about how Ben Simmons can force his way to the Lakers. Magic using the media to tamper for him per the norm.

Guys, you want to know the best part of all this?

Demar's shot timing in 2K is easier than Kawhi's! (The hitch in his shot actually makes it easier to see when he's at the peak of his form.) Sure his 3P rating is way lower, but the visual aid in shot release compensates for it.

He's a better dunker too. I took a few screenshots of him dunking on Kawhi.

You just said it yourself and prove the point, spurs against the warriors with kawhi untill he got injured use the Spurs without kawhi in that series, that big difference just show that the team was all him and how great he is, and it also show how poor and edup team pop build around him, and how much pop suck.. that series was actually great evidence for kawhi that he needed to leave and he can't trust pop and spurs organization...

All the other Yello media stuff that you put against kawhi not worth a comment, we don't know anything about that, we only know he wanted to leave and thats it...

So basically, he was mad at, and felt betrayed by the organization, and still addressed the fans, unlike our former face of the franchise.

Nice to see some professionalism. They way it should be.
