Former BYU star Fredette, who scored a game-high 32 points, had a hand in one of the biggest shots of the contest, getting an assist on teammate Ra'Shad James' 3-pointer with 4:18 to play that gave Team Fredette its first multi-possession lead of the game.
Fredette shot 9 of 17 from the field while going a perfect 11 of 11 from the free-throw line. He added three rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals.
Fredette hit all three of his 3-pointers during the second quarter, including one from near the midcourt logo. He made 3 of 5 3-point attempts in the game.
Team Fredette trailed by as many as 12 points in the first quarter in front of a sold-out crowed before getting back into the contest with a 13-2 second-quarter run. Peoria, which advanced to the first round by beating West Coast Ronin in a play-in game Friday, stayed in control through much of the contest with an 18-9 edge in offensive rebounds before Team Fredette finally pulled away.
Brandon Davies, another ex-Cougar, also had a big game, scoring 21 points to go along with a team-high eight rebounds, four assists and two steals, as well as an emphatic third-quarter block.
