I wonder if Puma will swoop in.. but I doubt it. Kawhi has no personality so it wouldn’t benefit Puma much since they have a lot of catching up to do.

This is old news though. If they were not going to accept the extension which means they were going to go shopping around for shoe deals. If this is so, I am sure Adidas or Nike could easily pay over that amount. Kawhi and Jordan would've probably been a better fit in the longterm until Kawhi and his Uncle messed things up but Kawhi will likely get a new shoe deal worth more.

Lol I guess we have big time free agents for shoe deals. Kawhi is still a better candidate for shoe selling than Andrew Wiggins and Gordon Hayward. Joel Embiid will do slightly better I imagine but big men usually don't sell shoes well. For all the negative PR as the saying goes, any publicity is good publicity. Someone will sign him because the whole nation is still talking about him. He will probably get incentives if he plays well.

They need a name. Embiid would probably be safer choice tho, he actually has a personality.

We are acting petty and illogical. The article is basically just saying he will be a free agent and look for a new shoe deal. I bet he will get a larger one from another company. Nike, Adidas, Chinese companies...

KL had a 5mil contract and was offered an extension of the existing contract. He wanted 10mil. After KL was traded his brand has fallen into the toilet, and they took the 5mil offer off the table. Kl's brand is suffering in China as well, as they value professionalism, and loyalty as much as game play. KL has a ton of damage control to do, which is a massive undertaking for someone who does not speak or use social media.

Hmm.. Thanks for posting. The other article stated he could still sign with "Nike" even though they are affiliated. They appear to run independently. I guess we will see what kind of contract he gets.

The only reason Kawhi should get more money is market size?

    I'll believe that.

Realistically, Adidas will probably make a move tbh. Especially after Drake makes a call (he signed with them recently).

Puma is probably licking their chops as well. Imagine going from Jordan/Nike to Puma though

It’s a gamble but it’s the right move. Jordan Brand is notorious for paying less than its compe ors. I can see Adidas or even Puma forking 3x Jordan Brands offer.

Other than it’s retros, JB has been utter trash anyway and their models usually ends up in the bargain rack.
