Every week she's on TV saying something even more ing re ed than the last time. You would be more sane if you were pimping John Macafee. The sad thing is that you don't even know. Is your name Scotty?
"people should have access to education and health care".

That really *is* re ed. The Republican alternative, sick and stupid, is soooo much more intellectually superior.

You know exactly what I'm talking about. Don't pretend to be aloof. Her Trevor noah appearance was cringeworthy at best. I guess that's one way for him to get laughs

Guaranteed that middle aged, dad joke tellin, white guy Darrin has used his fingers to do the Asian eye pose for a picture in the past year, and probably has said “me Chinese me play joke me put peepee in your Coke” to some unamused 11 year old child as well.

Haven't watched everything she has done, and I would not expect that anyone new to the political process, left or right, would be overly polished.

Her platform shows how much the "Democrats don't have ideas" myth is a misleading lie taken for truth in many circles.

Watching it now. Polite, well-spoken, and clearly articulates her beliefs.

Puzzled at what you found "cringeworthy", other than the fact that she is progressive and intelligent.

"I'm not going to take any corporate PAC money."?

    What a radical.

So you wouldn't expect someone promoting access to education and healthcare to have a thorough understanding of funding it?

She's the equivalent of Trump talking about really great ideas and getting tired of winning. Fluff and your failing for it.

Again, I wouldn't expect her to have a thorough understanding of funding at this point, no.

Raise taxes on the wealthy, and large corporations. Not a difficult concept.

Last week she backed down from her Israel Palestine stance by proclaiming that she wasn't an expert on geopolitical issues.
Which is making a really awesome Gif btw.

This week it was her taking to a Nobel prize winning economist then proceeding to to the logistics of funding it.

You thinking that the rich and not the middle class is going to pay for it is pretty cute.

Middle class is already paying for it, having its pockets picked by the hyper-wealthy, essentially at gun point.

The rich have been taking a greater and greater share of income and wealth, with almost all the economic growth in the last 30 years has going to the people who have bought the most members of congress.

"the middle class will pay for it" is a hollow deepity at this point, made vacuous by a rapacious, corrupt system that only really benefits the wealthy, and I can show more than a little data to show this. "money is free speech" after all, right? only rich people get their voices heard in our current system. I think people are ing tired of that.

It is expensive to be poor in the US.

    https://www.theatlantic.com/business...e-poor/282979/

I am also not the only one to notice the conservative War on the Poor.

Although underfunded, the War on Poverty still managed to provoke an intense backlash from conservative intellectuals and politicians.

In their view, government programs could do nothing to help the poor because poverty arises from the twisted psychology of the poor themselves. By the Reagan era, it had become a cornerstone of conservative ideology that poverty is caused not by low wages or a lack of jobs and education, but by the bad at udes and faulty lifestyles of the poor.

Picking up on this theory, pundits and politicians have bemoaned the character failings and bad habits of the poor for at least the past 50 years. In their view, the poor are shiftless, irresponsible, and prone to addiction. They have too many children and fail to get married. So if they suffer from grievous material deprivation, if they run out of money between paychecks, if they do not always have food on their tables—then they have no one to blame but themselves.

In the 1990s, with a bipartisan attack on welfare, this kind of prejudice against the poor took a drastically misogynistic turn. Poor single mothers were identified as a key link in what was called “the cycle of poverty.” By staying at home and collecting welfare, they set a toxic example for their children, who—important policymakers came to believe—would be better off being cared for by paid child care workers or even, as Newt Gingrich proposed, in orphanages.

Poor people always love to play the victim. Don't want minimum wage?
    - Join the army (https://www.goarmy.com/benefits/mone...-soldiers.html)
    - Ask your boss if there are other responsibilities you can assume that would come with a pay raise
    - Learn a skill, apprentice with a tradesman for a while...for free if that's what it takes

There are so many opportunities out there yet people don't want/are too lazy to take them

I read the article. I agree with a lot of the conservative viewpoints. I've been managing/leading people for more than 25 years now. From a quick lube station to get me through college to large corporate finance departments. In all of that time, the employees that made it clear that they were interested in advancement (more $$) were given opportunities. I have several employees (of multiple nationalities, cultural backgrounds, and genders) that only have high school educations and have worked their way from hourly positions to salaries in the 50K - 80K range by being dependable, smart, and open to additional responsibilities. I've also seen numerous people cycle through jobs because they weren't interested in learning, weren't dependable, and didn't want to do anything else but clock in at 8 am, do the minimum needed to maintain employment, and clock out at 5pm.

Stop playing the victim RG...you CAN be someone if you apply yourself

    Look at this hard worker:

    https://www.krqe.com/news/hfr-until-...erty/900181460

"I took sewing classes at Sew Right, Inc. to learn how to do cushions," she said.
At one of her client's home in Los Ranchos, Nezzie's mark is on the outside and the inside. From cushions and pillows, to umbrellas and drapery, to floral arrangements, she spent months working hard.
"This month I'm able to make money, so I reported it to SSI, so I can kiss them goodbye and no more food stamps," she said.
Nezzie's business is called Nifla Backyard Oasis. Word has spread about her skills.
"Green River, Wyoming, Ontario, Salt Lake City, it's just crazy," she said, noting places with new inquires into her services.
She did suffer setbacks and feels repercussions from an attack in Columbus, Ohio, to this day.
"It's been about 30 years. I was bludgeoned with a hammer. 128 broken bones in my hand," she noted.
Nezzie, who's almost 70, tells her story not for publicity, but as a thank you to those who helped her, and for encouragement.
"I just want to encourage anybody with a dream, don't take it to your grave. Work on it, I worked on it. You can work on it," she said.

plenty of "working poor" (and most of the able-bodied poor on public assistance are working and are white) are working their asses off in 2,3 jobs, 7 days /week, very often in dead-end, no-future jobs.

learn new skills, upgrade themselves, have some time for personal life, when?

you are suckered by the rightwing lies about "welfare queens in cadillacs" and "young (black) bucks are lazy"
