Facebook confirmed on Monday morning that it had removed four pages promoting Jones and his shows: The Alex Jones Channel Page, The Alex Jones Page, the Infowars Nightly News Page and the Infowars Page.
@ the link you just reposted

the sticky wicket here is how many people get information from Google, FB and Twitter -- a very small number of media companies determine almost everything we see.

as de able as Alex Jones is, I tend to doubt it's a good idea to rely Google, FB and Twitter to decide which speech is legitimate and which speech isn't.

Ironic to see conservatives complaining about this, since that abhorrent Citizen's United ruling opened the door to this kind of stuff, when it granted corporations the same rights of political speech as people.

B-b-b-but that ruling should only apply when it benefits us!

Records show Twitter has sought to influence Congress on behalf of Democratic causes. NY Post composite
    So?!
Twitter has been critical to Trump's success allowing him a platform for connecting with his base.
As long as they don't censor his message or not allow him to express his beliefs, what does it matter?

Yeah, that's pretty much Chris' point now. But, looking past the political cheerleading du jour, rulings like that do cause a pervasive damage to democracy in the long run, IMO.

it all depends on whose ox is gored. conservatives calling on government to treat FB and Twitter like public utilities is irony laden.

to be clear, I do think the internet is the public square and I do think it does make sense to treat ISPs as public utilities and to mitigate monopolistic practices/abuses by the likes of FB and Google.

after Citizen's United, I don't think there's any remedy past social opprobrium for Twitter giving political contributions to whomever it pleases. until SCOTUS rules differently, that ship has sailed.

Spotify bans "The Alex Jones Show"

Spotify also took action against Jones on Monday, removing every episode of his podcast The Alex Jones Show from its platform. The music streaming service had previously removed specific episodes of the show, but left the bulk of the archive up, before tightening its enforcement. Spotify has still left three other Infowars podcasts live on the service, however.

“We take reports of hate content seriously and review any podcast episode or song that is flagged by our community,” a Spotify spokesperson told the Guardian. “Due to repeated violations of Spotify’s prohibited content policies, The Alex Jones Show has lost access to the Spotify platform.”

I think a great Republican platform over the next few months is Alex Jones' right to say whatever he wants on the private sector's social media channels. Highly recommend pursuing to the fullest extent. Call your congressman. Start with Ted Cruz.
