Nobody cares about position - especially today. PG and SG are still handy labels. However you want to label them, White has shown more court vision and passing skill thus far. Consequently I would rather see him with the ball more. If you are trying to replicate Tony/Manu with Murray/White, my reply is that it would seem much easier to let White be White and try to remake Murray in the image of Danny Green. Danny couldn't shoot when he first entered the league, either. The other, more positive, comparisons seem pretty clear.
Hahaha. You had me up until you wanted Murray to be Danny Green. Green played the same way he did in college. 3 and D. He just worked on it more which shows he was comfortable at it. Murray has a ton of more star potential than Danny Green. What are you smoking? Murray's skill of attacking finishing and playmaking is way ahead of Danny Green already. Would be a waste of potential and I'm sure a devastating thing to hear from your coach that he wants you to play like Danny Green when Murray resembles nothing like him. Murray is a slightly more athletic Jamal Crawford but less shooting.

White has done nothing at the NBA level tbh, and you would be just as likely arguing for Murray should their roles reversed because they G league tends to make you think players are better than they really are.

So Murray + White can be the next Tony + Manu? Hmm would love to see the duo on the court first but if White is a decent defender with playmaking skills, he will be a good combo with Murray
There won't be another Tony+Manu as there won't be another Duncan, sadly. You can't replicate the unique.

Walker might be special at the SG as Murray might be special at PG. I'd say White probably will be a good NBA role player. All of them in their own style, hopefully, they can work together the same amazing way Tony and Manu did. At the moment they need to practice, learn and improve and we just can observe, cheer and comment. Patience.

Danny had to work hard to develop a good 3-point shot after he washed out with Cleveland. But you are right, Murray has more ability to attack the rim. My suggestion was really based on defense. My point is that by developing a three ball, he could become a 3 and D guy - with an expanded arsenal beyond just a three ball. He stands a better chance of becoming a Danny-plus than becoming a Tony.

Makes me a little weepy seeing him on the court again.

He could still make a difference playing and in the locker room. You know he would rather be on the court, his knees must hurt like .

Yep. There is also a big difference between trying to grind through a full season, going at full NBA speed, and playing in a glorified pickup game.

Still have no doubt that if he laced them up for a game, he'd go out there and get 10 and 5 easy.

So both our two way contract are available as Hillard and Castillo are both gone. Got to expect that Metu will get one and hopefully we find a SF who has some promise.

Yep, me, too. But Pop has hitched his wagon to Murray. White is looking more and more like a trade asset even though he is the best natural PG prospect on the roster.
White is the Ginobili replacement. And if Murray and him become good enough to warrant typical starter minutes, he can easily play some alongside him.

Spurs still have a 15th slot too, I think. I'd be an explicit compe ion between at least two candidates where the winner gets the roster spot and the loser gets the two-way deal.

I believe your correct I am hoping they invite a couple of SF to camp and the best one takes that spot. I know we have two foreign SF players who might be invited to camp other then those two not sure of another SF who we would invite. Not sure about Metu since he broke his wrist it sounds like they want him to go slow way G League but will see in camp.

I thought that if we brought in one of our 2nd round picks (Metu, Blossomgame) to camp and then we don't sign them then we lose their rights?

Still in favor of picking up Quincy Acy, tbh.

I have always felt that if you have to use the word grind to relate to playing basketball, then as a player you just do not love the game enough.
