Of course, they are about to come begging. Most of them haven't saved enough for retirement. The current e in bankruptcy filings is the leading edge of a nasty crisis.
real wages, household incomes have been essentially flat through out the boomers' earnings years

many boomer wives were forced to go work in the '80s just to stand still.

FDR is far from the worst. He and the New Deal are vastly over rated, but he still is far from the worst. We've had three consecutive administrations all worse than FDR.

Depends how you look at it. At it's greatest? Eisenhower as far as economic equality and prosperity.
Normalizing coups and intervention in the interests of big business and colonial empires was terrible. The Dulleses were a ing disaster.

    Worst: Woodrow Wilson. EASILY.
    James Buchanan.

Going to be hard to find a time in our history where a President wasn't busy doing that imperialism thing as every head of state of every world power has done since time began.

As I said, it was normalized to the point of banality. We overthrew a government for Chiquita bananas for Pete's sake.

    Yes, he did. I didn't.

    So here we go.
The people who actually read history can at least give reasonable arguments.

Yep, the 1950's were a true victory for low tax rates and trickle-down economics.

Yeah, that's why I stated economic equality. We'll always have the scars that every country that was a world power at some point in their history will have. So hard to find a country that carried the weight of the entire world on it's shoulders so much, while so young, so the scars are fresher and easier for the failed empire's current population, and our own educated, to thumb their noses at the country.

I am not one of those Alts. It used to be harder than a woodpeckers lips to get an account approved. Now it's easier than pulling a greased string through a goose. I'm all for a happy medium.

The economy grew over 35%. Inflation that massacred other countries post-war was kept minimal. Houses were the most affordable they'd ever been and there was no bear market once in the entire decade while unemployment stayed steady. It was called the Prosperity decade for a reason.

Tell me why you think I'm on your intellectual level, you putz.

Yeah, that's why I stated economic equality.
I would take issue with that as well. Redlining and outright discrimination kept so many minorities from the surest ac ulation of wealth that could be passed on: home ownership. That wasn't fixed until 1968, right about when the postwar government gravy train for most was ending.

The 90's would be what we're looking for then. Peacetime (so far as we can call it), massive economic growth and less poverty/racism.

Wait, what? Like in that same sequence? Billy C raped them then his anti-gay, super racist wife murdered them?
