Waiving Paul and replacing him with two rookies would keep the team pretty comfortably away from the tax. That's even more true if Cun's contract is for the min rather than the remainder of the MLE.
Would love to loose Gasol and bring in Nikola and bring in Hanga or ND to replace SF. That would still leave us at 14 with a slot open.

Man with Green, Tony, and now Manu gone Pop is going to coach his ass off

I was thinking more about how much they could take back in trade and not hit the limitations that kick in with the tax. Last week I played around on the trade machine and a damn Mills for Terrence Ross trade wouldn't work because it slipped them in the tax just enough to have to abide by the 125%. Trade Machine isn't always accurate for current salary, so it could have easily just been a machine error.

I hope that wasn't a direct trade, because Patty makes more than Ross. Anyway, if Cunningham is a min deal, then the Spurs have the room to sign a rookie-min guy and still use the LLE. They aren't that close to the tax.

Which young player benefits the most from Manu retiring? White? Walker? Forbes? Davis?

    It has to be White.

Sorry, it wasn't Ross, it was DeMarre Carroll.

That would be close, but I don't think PATFO would have any interest in that trade, and I'm almost completely sure Brooklyn wouldn't either. If for some reason there was enough interest in moving Mills for a player making that much, it'd likely be later in the year enough to include Forbes or other off-setting salary to make it work anyway. Anything happening right now would need to involve Gasol.

Honestly at this point I'd rather just sign Blossomgame and Metu and forget about the whole Quincy Acy thing.

Rather have players with more experience ND and Nikola and more upside.

I’m sure he meant Acy. Plenty of people have been mentioning picking up Acy but instead the team just signed Pondexter.

Woj: "Lots of teams in the league think [Kevin Durant] will be in play and that there's a chance that he could be recruited away from [GSW]. He could re-sign with them for $200M+, and that doesn't seem, right now, to be the most important factor for him or for anybody else."

"I think the Knicks will get somebody next year. I think the Knicks have put themselves in a position where — I think there's going to be enough movement. ... I think they get a real — I don't know which one it is, but I think they're in position to potentially get a guy."

"The Pacers would've done a deal to trade Paul George to the Lakers if they got the #2 pick in the 2017 draft (which Los Angeles ended up using on Lonzo Ball) or Brandon Ingram"

So KD could stay in GS or not... NYK, Clippers, Nets and every team with a max slot could get "someone" next season...

If we surprise and become serious contenders missing an extra piece...would Manu come back after the All Star break?

    This.

    Phoenix got Ayton.

    Dallas got Doncic.

Memphis is getting a healthy Conley back.

Sacramento...well, they are still just the Kings and will suck forever.

Patty, LMA, Pau and Ferrari (?) are HEB vets. Dijon and DeMar would be obvious additions... But Patty and Dijon are the only guys with enough "stage presence" to be major guys in those commercials. HEB may have to adjust its pattern.
