What that tells me is white people kill white people and black people kill black people, that isn't particularly surprising.

It is believed that since people tend to kill people that they know or live in the same general area, it is more likely to be killed by one's own race. Tibbit's being killed by someone from outside her race, in a state that is overwhelmingly white is pretty surprising.
