They should just get rid of jails too. People's lives are being ruined in there. It's inhumane.
Did you really think you could plagiarize the second comment on the tweet and no one would notice?

Have you ever had an original take? Jesus, you are unimaginative.

Disagree strongly, but we can and should make them less wasteful.

There's no need to pauperize people arrested for non-violent misdemeanors. The sooner we get them out of jail, the sooner they can pay their fines and court fees.

great idea. saves a lot of money without much risk to public safety.

people's lives shouldn't be ruined over non-violent misdemeanor arrests.

    win/win/win
Agreed. Honestly am surprised that this approach isn't the norm in the country.

The premise is in well intention but the system itself is going to make or break this law. If the risk-assessment system fails or is poorly-thought and warrant counts rise and money is spent on enforcing warrants with more round ups and picking up the slack when bondsmen are obsolete.

Misdemeanor fines, tickets and res ution can't be paid if people don't show up for court. You can't predict what that number/volume would be, but in this society...I don't have optimism the fly rate decreases.

    Chris beats me to it.

It is a great idea and sound public policy. It will cost taxpayers a LOT less money, and the public less too.

It will suck for the assholes in the "bail industry", but they will just have to go out and get real jobs.

If Trump passed the same law

"Trump passes law defending us from muslims and immigrants between the ages of 18 and 21 from being able to murder us"

but on a serious note, you already had to be 21 to buy handguns. but you could buy shotguns/rifles at 18. they just made the 21 year old requirement more uniform... it's not some drastic measure.

    Subjunctive mood.

You'd think Fox News would find a stronger denunciation if one was available.

Ted is a California congressman. Ted is pointing toward the Cons ution as an impediment of his want to control speech. An extremist position that would become problematic if the "muh popular vote" crowd got their dream. It's both a dig at that and in general California.
