That happened right around the corner from me.. Passed by and seriously felt ashamed to be born and raised San Antonian.. these fat ass sharpie eyebrow diabeetus calloused heel west siders did the same for Kyrstal Burger when it opened for some reason.. Plus we had the Katrina evacuees here so it was a huge line onto the access road of built in callous shoes and dreadlocks with gold grills all waiting for some ty White Castle knock offs..In N Out's burgers are ing gross.
lol at that picture though. Same thing happened when Krispy Kreme moved into town. People were camped outside and there was a line of cars down the freeway.

The Patio in San Antonio is pretty damn good at a really reasonable price, it’s in Southtown which I would reccomend checking in general.
if you want some good soul food mr and mrs G’s is fire. Bonus points, you don’t have to worry about running into Chris there because he is scared of black people

In and Out makes a better burger than Whataburger. I put Texas food over Cali food almost all the time, but In and Out had a better burger than Whataburger.
Best burger in San Antonio is Chester's tho, tbh, FWIW.

Whataburger is a solid burger but I'm not one of people in TX that puts them on a pedestal.. The patty melt is worth trying though if you go, IMO

Has nothing to do with Whataburger as I'm not a huge fan of theirs either. But I've been to In N Out three times in different cities and I've left disappointed every time.

i tried in n out and the burger was good. i can't recall ever getting worse fries than they served however. just dumped the 3/4 full bag into the garbage. no flavor not worth the effort chewing and swallowing. burger was good though
There's one at the Rim in SA.
I wasn't impressed with the burger nor the atmosphere. I may have to try one more time just to make sure.

I’ve been to Hopdoddy in Dallas, Austin and here at the Rim. One of my favorite places. But the last time I was at the Rim must have been during a heavy meat grinding session, because the place reeked of blood and raw meat. I had to pack it up after a couple of bites so I could get to somewhere I could actually taste something. But that one instance won’t keep me away yet.

Yeah, their fries suck. But for a fast food burger, their burger is solid. Better than the soggy mess that encompasses a cold, dry patty from Whataburger.
Their regular fries are ok -
but their fancee schmancy truffle fries do not suck!
