Kid loses a game, gets pissed off and totally freaks out being mentally unstable. That is not what terrorism is.

All he really has to do is watch TV/Google, pay attention to what is going on and being said. Nobody is....an act of terrrorism....at all. This was a mentally disturbed kid who simply freaked out, that is not what terrorism is.

If your sole purpose is to instill terror on innocent people it's terrorism.
Is that just your personal made up definition of terrorism?

People get thrown in jail for even expressing intent of doing that. Go tell a fed you gonna shoot up random people, let's see what they charge you with.

It's pretty obvious if this kid had won the tournament ...nothing. While an act of terrorism is a planned assault with some agenda. We aren't seeing that sort of thing with this.

A mentally instable kid going bonkers after losing. That really isn't what terrorism is. I get how important it is to never be wrong on the internet, and you will never...ok ok I see that.

Trust me, there is a reason nobody is talking about an act of terrorism.

I don't trust random people in the internets... nothing personal, tbh...

I've admitted to being wrong before here many times, tbh... peeps here can vouch for that. Has nothing to do with it. I just won't agree there's such a thing as 'flipping' and shooting out random people, and somehow that's not terrorism. Agree to disagree on that.

The game was two weeks old. What made this guy so emotionally invested in the outcome of the tournament? People play 20-year-old games with far more left to lose and don't react like this.

I bet the media is mad that the game wasn't a first-person shooter, because they couldn't get their narrative out about violent video games.

Granted this is an opinion from playing Madden 10 years ago but they usually tweak the playstyle a bit year to year. Maybe he was no longer as good (previously winning that Bills Tournament) and he had no other hobby or focus in life

The kids mom said he would go long periods without bathing.. Used to throw re tantrums over losing his games, even called the cops on her for taking them away. I'm guessing she allowed the video game system to raise him and he turned out all ed up because of it.

    As all brainwashed children do..

In seriousness, gaming addiction is a relatively new disorder as far as medical recognition, but it's definitely real. I can see the difference in my kids behavior if they get too much game time. Once I notice they're becoming zombies they will lose access for long periods of time to become normal, clear thinking kids again.

I can imagine if they were allowed to have free control over their own video game time without supervision though..

What mass shooters have been charged with terrorism? The Feds have a definition of terrorism and shooting people for the sake of shooting people isn't it.

It's not even confined to shooting, can also be stabbing or anything else:

In another example, from March of this year, a white man named James Harris Jackson stabbed to death a black man in New York and said he did so as a "practice" run for more killings of black people. Jackson was charged with murder in the second degree as a hate crime.
But Jackson also faces a terrorism charge in the case -- murder as an act of terrorism in the first and second degrees.
According to police, Jackson, a Baltimore resident, said he traveled to New York because it is the media capital of the world and he wanted to make a statement.

There's also such a thing as grouping certain crimes as 'domestic terrorism' according to the FBI:

Part of the confusion stems from the fact that the world has never really settled on a standard definition of "terrorism." The US Code of Federal Regulations defines it as "the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives." But it is not a standalone criminal charge. "There is not a domestic terrorism crime as such," FBI Director Christopher Wray said in a Senate hearing in September. "We in the FBI refer to domestic terrorism as a category but it's more of a way in which we allocate which agents, which squad is going to work on it."

As it's stated, there's no standard (and thus it's certainly a matter of opinion), but that doesn't preclude LE calling it what it is: terrorism. And I think they're right to do so.

I had to completely take away video game privilages from my boys this summer because they were throwing fits about having their screen time limited, weren't even getting dressed in the morning, etc... so away the electronics went.

I've always defended video games when people try to blame them on society's problems. And even though I can see first hand the effects of addiction, I still say we don't have a video game problem, we have a parenting problem. I'm required to give you a place to live, food to eat, basic clothing, healthcare, and transportation to school... everything else is a privilege you should have to earn. My wife and I make a lot more money than either of us grew up with, but I'll be damned if my kids grow up like en led little s like most kids are.

Not confused at all, tbh, and you're not making an argument at all either, per par...

I certainly don't get why some people seem averse to call things by their name, tbh...
