My legs are bigger than that midget.
Big old fatty fat legs that make a sweaty “schlorp” noise when you pull them apart to let your black man lover in.

Ok, I'd love for you to be right and I'm wrong.

Bums me out that we let Hyde go.
Not a big Hyde fan, dude was a tweener back. Just not good enough at anything to be a bell cow.

That position is a big worry for me though if I'm a 49ers fan. McKinnon is definitely not a lead back, but they overpaid him to be. When AP went down in 2016 and McKinnon was asked to be a bell cow, Minnesota's offense (particularly rushing offense) fell apart. McKinnon is a great scatback and change of pace back, but he's NOT a lead back, he will never get that consistent 4-6 yards between the tackles on first downs.

Alfred Morris is my lead back if I'm the Niners. Breida can be the backup and McKinnon will play most to all of the receiving back snaps.

Hyde has a 4.2 career average, Emmitt Smith had 11 seasons where he averaged 4,2 or less. Hyde will be missed.

Yes I totally agree with your accessment of the current Niner RB situation. I'm not cool with it at all. Yep. glad we brought Morris however.

Also while I think you have 2 elite tackles, your interior line is just average and may struggle somewhat to run block especially early in the season. Morris might help mitigate that somewhat especially if they do zone blocking.

Hyde was good in limited attempts but he got worse as you gave him too many carries, and couldn't stay healthy.

McKinnon is a great scatback but you don't pay a great scatback $7 million a year. He's not a very effective first down back, plain and simple. He averaged a ghastly 1.2 YPC running between the tackles (A and B gaps) in 2016 with the Vikings.

Morris is a solid full time starter/bell cow and is solid in pass protection and still under age 30. Breida is still a good third down back option and can catch out of the backfield just fine at a small fraction of what they paid McKinnon. In the NFL, your #1 back/lead back has to be effective between the tackles, get a consistent 3-5 yards or better per inside run, and that definitely is not McKinnon.

I never understood the McKinnon signing. I know they had a lot of money and the urge to win now that they have Jimmy and a good young coach, but that was a bad contract. A player like McKinnon is probably worth about 2-3 million a year. He's simply put, NOT an NFL lead back.

    McKinnon done for 2018..........sucks!

    While here.

    Niner firsts.

First black 10000 yard rusher Joe "Jet" Perry
First consecutive 1000 yard rusher...see above.
    First HBCU 1000 yard rusher J.D.Smith NCA&T
First team to really use the Shot Gun formation
First player to block a FG while standing under the goal post....former basket baller R.C. Owens.
First team to have three RB's all there together who are in the HOF. Perry, Hugh "King" McElhenny, John Henry Johnson
First player to have a 1000 yards rushing and receiving in same season....Roger Craig
First team to have a WR with two 90 yard plus scores in one game...John Taylor.

No telling how many firsts Jerry Rice has. And how many teams have had more HOFers and what team had...GOAT QB to GOAT WR?

    Now add SB success

Alfred Morris >> McKinnon. Unless it's 3rd & 12 or something. But that's what Breida is for

If used right he was a weapon. More chance to break something than anyone else we have. Obviously not a thumper.

Olympic long jumper "near" world class speed.

McKinnon however more of a ...what's he going to do? And a better runner.

Need to get Dante Pettis more involved. He has...zooom....factor. A better runner than Goodwin. (not faster, more elusive)

Ricky Watters put on a show. He always reminded me of Roger Craig.

    That was great, thanks.
