    yikes over this?

    yikes over this?

    I mentioned going to the high school in Roscoe, I also went to the cotton gin in Roscoe. And at that cotton gin, there are 24 jobs and the manager of that gin says it does not matter the wages that I pay or the number of hours that we set … no one born in Roscoe … or Texas or this country who is willing to work. But there are immigrants who are coming from Central America or Mexico or other parts of the world to Roscoe to work these jobs and to help build our economy

    lol
    I grew up right down the road from Roscoe. That quote is complete horse .

    pasted from FB

    "If you want a factual statement on Beto and his stance on Israel - here you go:

    AIPAC is not partisan and does not endorse or support political candidates. Individual members do endorse and support candidates. Mike Nichols is an active member ofAIPAC and he over 50 other pro-Israel supporter endorsed the following letter:

    As lifelong supporters of the State of Israel, we, the undersigned, are also proud to support Beto O’Rourke’s campaign for Senate.

    Since 2014, Beto O’Rourke has voted for every foreign aid and defense assistance resolution enabling Israel to defend itself.

    In the current session of Congress alone, he has co-sponsored the United States-Israel Security Assistance Authorization Act of 2018 and voted in favor of the Memorandum of Understanding supporting $33 billion in security assistance to Israel and $500 million in cooperative missile defense funding for fiscal year 2019;

    he has co-sponsored the resolution imposing sanctions on Iran’s Revolutionary Guard;

    he has cosponsored the Hezbollah International Financing Prevention Act (as he has in each of the past three Congresses);

    and he co-sponsored the Iran Ballistic Missiles and International Sanctions Enforcement Act, and the Taylor Force Act, which prohibits certain foreign aid being made available to the Palestinian Authority unless the PA takes steps to end acts of violence.

    He recently signed on to the Engel/Smith/Lowey letter urging the administration to fill the currently empty role in the State Department of Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism, and became a member of the Congressional Task Force for Combating Anti-Semitism.

    Beto has authored a position paper on Israel, and we think it best to let Beto speak for himself:

    “Israel is critically important to the United States.

    Because it is the home of the Jewish people, because it is an exemplary democracy that shares our values, and because it is a crucial contributor to our national security objectives in the region, the U.S. should do everything we can to support the state of Israel. Israel is second only to Silicon Valley for high-tech innovation, and many of the medical and technological advances on which our whole society depends have been developed there. For these reasons and more, I am a proud advocate for Israel.

    I support a two-state solution but one which the parties directly negotiate themselves.

    I also support continued U.S. engagement and leadership in that process.

    Any ultimate solution will have to recognize Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish democratic state, with secure and defensible borders, and will require a demilitarized Palestinian partner for peace.

    Hezbollah and Hamas have thousands of missiles aimed at Israel and continue to call for its destruction. Iran is establishing itself in Syria and Lebanon as a destabilizing force. Israel has the right and the obligation to defend itself against all of these threats.

    Palestinians and Israelis should be able to live in peace, with dignity. Key to that politically, is a two-state solution that allows for full sovereignty for the people of Israel and the future state of Palestine.

    However, this cannot happen without committed, responsible leadership on both sides.

    I am hopeful that a new generation of Palestinian leadership will be able to lead the Palestinian people toward a peaceful, negotiated resolution with Israel that results in two states.

    I support Israel’s qualitative military edge, and I have voted for and will continue to support foreign aid for Israel.

    I cosponsored and then voted for a resolution in the last Congress to encourage the Obama Administration to quickly finalize a robust and long-term Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Israel.

    The resulting agreement will last 10 years and provide Israel $3.8 billion per year.

    I oppose efforts, economically and diplomatically, to boycott or delegitimize Israel.

    As long as I am an elected official, I will work to build on these votes and experiences and continue to be a strong advocate for Israel."

    In addition to Beto’s unwavering support for Israel, Beto supports Jewish Values.

    Beto often discusses on the campaign trail the tragic mistake our country made when, in 1939, we turned away the MS St Louis, refusing to allow Jewish refugees fleeing from Nazi Germany to enter the United States,

    as part of the explanation for why he supports sensible and humane immigration policies and opposes family separation.

    He supports reforming our health care system to ensure that all Americans have access to quality health care;

    he supports equality for LGBTQ Americans;

    and he will work to address climate change.

    Beto believes in the separation of church and state and opposes efforts which would allow churches to endorse political candidates.

    We urge all Texans and all supporters of the State of Israel to join us in voting for Beto O’Rourke for the Senate."

    Can you explain Teysha?
    Sure. I grew up 20 miles away. Had lots of friends from Roscoe, Hermeleigh, Swee er. Most of my Roscoe buddies still live there. They own local businesses or continue to Farm or Ranch. They employ more people than actually live there that need work. It's not rocket science but Team Beto is not terribly concerned.
    Roscoe is small. 900 or so.

    Beto was too nice. He should have jumped on CRUZ sucking up to Trump - even after Trump insulted his wife and father. He should have stressed that Texans don't suck up to bullies after the bully has attacked you.

    Beto should have also reminded everyone how close Cruz came to taking Texans health care away.

    *also Cruz could not help himself - he had to mention Hillary! and Obama!!

    Attacking cruz through Trump is not smart on a place like texas either.

    A line of attack in the vein of Ted's hypocrisy will do. No short of ammunition there.

    By Ted's own account all he has on Beto is that he's gotten arrested a few times. lol That just makes beto look even more appealing and real.

    Ted is fakes as .

    Cruz is a champion debater, an appellate attorney, and senator. He’s got a strong advantage in this forum and it showed. Beto should ask for a town hall debate with ordinary people asking questions. I think he’d show better.

    Cruz achieved his goal: make Beto look like a far lefty for Texas standards. But I think Beto did a good job of taking to his base. He knows his base is smaller than Cruz’s base, but his job is to get high turnout and hope that Cruz’s base gets low turnout in a midterm election. I thought he did well, but his followers are going to want more fight and less flowery ideals.
