Let me ask you this:
Assume you are a 15 year old girl who is assaulted. You are hurt and ashamed and you think no one will believe you or no one will care. You put up with the whispers and hope that eventually it goes away. the boy moves on, and you resign yourself to keeping it to yourself.
You see the boy grow into a man, with his own life, and does reasonably well in his life. You have, yourself moved on, and try to get over the trauma.
Now you see him nominated to the supreme court.
Your truth is now important.
Do you now come forward, or keep the fact that a sitting supreme court justice attempted to rape you when you were 15?

I would point out that accusers, no matter how truthful, are often raked over the coals. And in the current political environment, with trolls and all sorts of nutters out there, would a reasonable person expect all sorts of attacks based on anything they said in the past in an attempt to discredit them generally, no matter how unfair or untruthful the attack might be?

No. What matters is there is no evidence to deny Brett Kavanaugh a supreme court seat based on what she is saying. My hypothesizing about motive is just that. I don't have any evidence of that, either. So don't try her for perjury (after she testifies).

I don't know if she's a liar, but the evidence (or lack of it) suggests that she might be. It certainly doesn't prove she's not. I'm not making any determinations on anything "alone".

My point was specifically that the left believes (quite possibly rightly), that Kavanaugh on the court means the end of Roe V. Wade. As a member of the left, we can assume Dr. Ford believes this. Therefore, when I was asked why someone would put herself through what she is putting herself through, I said, "to save Roe vs Wade" (not in so many words).
The liberal professors are my best friends, btw. I get drunk and debate people a LOT smarter than me all the time.
