Her sworn statement is all Maryland authorities need (if that's where it happened, I guess - Virginia isn't far away). I said they can't PROVE she's lying to the degree necessary to convict her in a court of law of perjury. Presumption of innocence and all that. Maybe you're not that bright, after all.

The only check and balance for partisan nominees in the current system is when the Senate and President are from different parties, but that may no longer be an option thanks to Mitch McConnell.
