If you read Dr. Ford's account - there is no escaping the fact that Senators will face their moment. Most of them are garbage people - and it cannot be overstated how utterly disgusting it is - that - ONLY the two Republican women - (plus FLAKE/CORKER) - are actually the only ones that might vote no.
How telling that no other Republican male - can even muster a tiny bit of disgust after multiple credible accounts of ery by the partisan frat boy.
There is a part in her account - where she describes how Kavanaugh pounced on her and one of the two assaulters turned up the music. She screamed - but Kavanaugh covered her mouth - she could barely breathe and thought he might ACCIDENTLY kill her...
she looked over at Mark Judge - and their eyes met - and for a moment she thought that maybe Judge was going to help her - He didn't. (though at one point Judge told Kavanaugh to stop?)
I cannot believe that some senators will not weigh that detail carefully - and weigh their responsibility carefully. (but it would not shock me either if they immediately confirm the sexual assaulter frat boy)

Now these guys have nothing to gain by this. It's one thing, as hard as it might be, to come forward accusing someone of raping you. It's quite another to claim to be the rapist.

But assume for a moment that you don't hold a bias where these issues are concerned, that each accusation has to rest on its own merits instead of instantly creating a huge hole for the accused to climb out of. If both parties are considered to be honest until proven otherwise, why are you comparing allegations, such as these, to proven cases of molestation and rape? Why not instead compare to instances where the accused was found not guilty?
As soon as the allegation was leveled against the GOP candidate, the left screamed "guilty!" and brought out the noose. Almost every MSM website talks about Ford as if she's a proven victim and about Brett as if he's a proven sex offender. The real intent here isn't justice for Mrs Ford, that would be too ethical for this government, but blocking the political appointment of a conservative supreme court nominee. With the priests and the trainers, there was no underlying motive that police or politicians used to hold on to allegations against a particular individual until such time as they found it politically beneficial to release them.
While I understand the importance and gravity of this moment and how it will affect our futures if a sexual deviant/predator becomes a supreme court justice, that's not a legit reason to suddenly drop sexual assault allegations 36 years after you claim they occurred, and I am surprised, though not much, that some victims rights group hasn't jumped on this with both feet since the accuser's name was leaked to the media and the affair was turned into a media circus instead of being referred to the police.

So you're just another partisan flake who sees only good from the left and only bad from the right (unless the right agrees with you). You overlook the fact that the left actually leaked the "victim's" information to the press, that they sat on this for 7 weeks until they found an opportune time to use it. You ignore the fact that their tactics helped create much of the doubt regarding these allegations in the 1st place.

I was speaking mainly to the contention that the accusers aren't credible because they didn't come forward more quickly.
There's little doubt much political hay has been made of them, starting with Ms. Blasey Ford being outed by Diane Feinstein's office for a nakedly political purpose.
If we're to weigh the allegations on their own merits, the opportunism of the minority is neither here nor there. Investigate the allegations and let the chips fall where they may.
There's still time for the accusers to file police complaints. We're fairly early in the process.
If the majority doesn't like the way the Dems have dragged Kavanaugh's name through the mud, they can clear his name with an investigation or take their chances and confirm a judge who might be morally unfit for the job.
Mitch McConnell stole a Supreme Court appointment from Obama two years ago, the wailing and gnashing of teeth over the Dems blocking Kavanaugh unfairly now isn't credible.
