No, I'm not a Republican hack. You are a democrat hack. I'm not nearly as fanatical about this as you are. But if a man is accused of gang rape and other crimes, and doesn't come out pissed, then it shows me that he doesn't think he's innocent. He had to come out with fire and emotion and he did.
You are naive if you think that anyone that has any influence by the Clintons doesn't enjoy all this character assassination. Like I said, that's not the main reason all this came out. It came out because this is the most hotly contested seat in the history of the Supreme Court for many reasons.
You want an embarrassment that undermines faith in the objectivity of the court? Think about how poorly the democrats have handled the entire Ford matter. They could have had it investigated in the background without making it public. They could have addressed it with Kavanaugh in July and August when he was meeting people. They could have had an FBI investigation in July or August. They could have honored Ford's wishes to not have her name go public by doing a private investigation in July or August. I would wager if they did that, Trump would have pulled Kavanaugh back in August just because this was not a battle worth having when he could nominate a woman that is far more conservative than Kavanaugh.
But the Dems chose to sit on the information and then leak it to the press so they could turn this whole thing into a circus, which meant dragging both Ford and Kavanaugh into the mud. They did it to blow up the confirmation, but it's ultimately going to fail because it is now even more likely that Kavanaugh will be confirmed, but the Dems will have forever damaged this process. I do not doubt that if this situation comes up again, but in reverse roles, that Republicans will do the same thing. I think this is the beginning of how future appointment battles are going to be and that is very, very bad for the bench.
