I bought Wildlands while 60% off.. It's actually pretty damn fun
It has a huge community and terrific dev team. You will not be disappointed.

90% through Spider-Man, and it’s really fun until about halfway through, and then all the side objectives start getting incredibly tedious.
DJR210 man, you gonna get AC Odyssey?

Yeah I finished it. Once you get to the third chapter or so, all the crime encounters start to get real repe ive.
And the Taskmaster's challenges. I did them all just to get a few challenge tokens, but no way am I maxing those things out. Not that it really matters. The different suits are all cosmetic anyway. And there are only a handful of good suit powers.
after that pic I might even purchase the collector's edition
I just bought Wildlands (awesome game, not worthy of the hate it recieved after launch) and I just picked up Jurassic World Evolution from the Codex sale. I'll be busy for a while.
Wildlands was a great game, IMO...
I'm working my way through SOtTR...
Getting your 35 fps at 1080p with the $1200 RTX 2080 Ti and RT turned on?
lmao no, playing at 1440p 28fps (aka '4K') on my Pro... haha...
Game is beautiful, but honestly, game feels more and more like a cross of AC and Uncharted (not a bad thing) than the usual TR...
Dude there are like 10 or 15 special editions of the game.
Yeah, missions ain't too special.. but it's just a damn fun game with 4 like minded players, the graphics are amazing, the bullet physics and rag doll physics are on point, and it's just a lot of fun raiding AI compounds together
Whichever one comes with an exclusive mechanical keyboard for 500 bucks is the one I want
If you guys like city builders, check out that Jurassic Park Evolution, it's a lot of fun.. modifying genomes to create the ultimate alpha dinosaur and watching them battle it out for the parks amusement is pretty damn fun.
Damn the usual TR feels like a clone of Uncharted. I gotta play AC Origins. I was holding off on it waiting to do a gpu upgrade with Turing, but that's out of the question now with the 2070 being a $600 midrange card. What the selling a TU106 based card for nearly what 80 Ti cards have gone for the last three generations? I guess I'll put Final Fantasy XV at the top of my backlog too since I don't see myself buying a new card until Navi now. Unless AMD decides midrange cards are $500+ also.
I tell you, my 960 is still rocking, and the 970 at work too. I know some people are very picky about 60fps, and I'd love to have 60fps lock at 4k, but the reality is 30fps will give you a great experience (non-VR), and shader work is way more important for better gfx. I'm currently working on an exclusive game that has such amazing gfx. I can't even believe the PS4 still holds up to run this thing. And sure, when and if better hardware comes around, it'll look even better and nicer, but I'm still surprised daily on the kind of stuff you can still pull off with that generation (PS4 level, Maxwell). Obviously, this is the end of the road for those chips, but looking back the jump from Kepler to Maxwell was pretty massive.
I still don't see a major need to upgrade either, these cards support DX12, and run pretty much everything. Maybe in a year or so, we'll get some monster new games that up the ante, but right now, I'm pretty happy the run I've got for my money off them.
60 fps is night and day better to me than 30 fps. I don't care much about resolution, it really feels like diminishing returns since I mostly play games on the couch on my TV whether console or PC which minimizes the impact of the greater pixel density since I'm not a foot away from the screen like if I gamed at my desk. I wish dynamic resolution was a thing on PC outside of DLSS on these ridiculously overpriced Turing cards. I greatly preferred playing Nioh at 60 fps with dynamic resolution (but mostly at 720p) on my PS4 vs the 1080p30 mode and wish I could use dynamic resolution on games like Final Fantasy XV that are extremely punishing to everything out there. What I want out of a gpu is something that will be able to play 1080p high at 60 fps locked for 3-4 years. Eg I want double console performance since console settings are usually equivalent to PC high settings, which is why I'm willing to pay around the price of a console for my gpu alone. But I'm not going to ever pay double console price for a graphics card.
Obviously I can play 30 fps and enjoy it or I wouldn't have a PS4, but my 970 is starting to enter a no man's land where it's way too powerful for 30 fps but not quite enough for 60 fps at high. Being just a little under that 60 fps threshold adds pretty noticeable stuttering with VSync on, which is the only way I play my PC games since adaptive VSync adds tear lines near the top of the image and having no sync period looks horrific IMO. The only real advantage to me for PC gaming is running at 60 fps. I guess you could point to piracy too, but multiplats tend to go on sale for $20 to $30 pretty quickly on PS4 so it's not that big IMO.
30 fps is almost unplayable for me. It looks so damn jerky, esp on first/third person les.
I rather have 60 too, tbh, but I don't mind dropping to 30 for 4K... As long as there's no tearing, I don't have much of an issue...
Then again, as I said, I know some people that are pretty picky about it, that's fine by me.
trumps tariffs will also be hitting pc parts apparently... buy a used video card now or wait till 10-25% grab her by the pussy tax comes in
The Do Tax is 10% on everything Chinese coming to our shores in a couple of hours and turns to 25% on January 1st. Perfect timing with gpu and RAM prices already through the ing roof.
It really depends on the game, honestly. 30fps looks WAY worse when it's moving an entire world/scope around your character. Not terrible for an RPG with a limited camera sweep. Way worse for a game like GTA or Zelda or any FPS.
I always thought you were a big BOTW fan? If you have an 8700k you can supposedly get a locked 60 fps playing it on CEMU 1.13.2 now.
BOTW is awesome, but the 30fps kinda sucks. Definitely affects it, I try to play it docked AMAP.
I don't really play it on PC, because I bought the switch for mobile gaming for the most part.

Holy guys. This is amazing.
It's ing hilarious to control a mech the way they set this up in game. It's fantastic. SO MUCH FUN.
These mods make me want to get Yakuza 0 for PC
