Kellyanne Conway defended President Donald Trump’s decision to publicly mock Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault.
Conway’s comments, made to reporters on Wednesday, were reported by multiple news outlets.
“The woman has been accommodated by all of us,” said Conway, a counselor to Trump.
“She’s been treated like a Fabergé egg by all of us, beginning with me and the president. He’s pointing out factual inconsistencies. Do you have corroboration for her claims? Can you fill in her memory gaps, her factual inconsistencies?”
However, she would not acknowledge that Ford’s credibility had been challenged by Trump.
“When did he say she was not credible?” she asked one reporter. “He said there were factual inconsistencies. He laid them out for you. Don’t put words in the president’s mouth."
