Dammit
I wonder how long he'll be out?
He's the highest pick since Kawhi, and Kawhi played a great deal. Granted we didn't have much else at the 3, but still. He could've played more than the usual rook does
Welp thats that. Wanted to see more of this kid.
Back before the new year hopefully. Obviously a blow cause he needs as much reps as possible, but could be worse. 8 weeks is December 1st
Two non contact injuries in almost no playing time and now will be out for weeks or months. Not looking good at all.
Looks like the breaks are not going to go our way for awhile. Sucks.
Would they sew the tear or remove the Cartilage? The Spurs need to do whatever will allow for a long term recovery and not rush him back.
That sucks for the Spurs and Walker.
Just keep the kid away form his uncle now.
Didn't he have a meniscus tear in college too?
I hope he gets a second opinion
Hopefully this doesn't ruin his career like it did Andersons... Get better Lonnie![]()
Torn meniscus is much better than what it could’ve been. Sad to see him out for that long, but glad it’s not an ACL year like what usually happens when there is a non contact knee injury.
Yea I believe the same leg
yep. tore the meniscus in the same knee, less than a year and a half ago, in preseason

worthy of additional concern
Naw. James Anderson with broken foot was much worse than this.
I can't remember exactly, but Ron Artest/Metta World Peace did the quicker option (which I think was to remove the meniscus) when he was playing for the Lakers trying to get back for the playoffs. He was never the same after that and was pretty much done.
I agree that the Spurs should take the long term option if it's possible. I think repairing it is the better way to go. Someone correct me if I am wrong, though.
This really does suck because I wanted to see this kid play more than anyone else on the team.
Spurs medical stuff missed it once again, should not approve him on draft
Spurs might have to think about getting a new medical staff. I don't know if they missed something, but if they did, they need to take a long, hard look at their medical staff.
Wow. Didn't he dunked during the warm-up before the Pistons?

Sucks big time! It's only a preseason game, doesn't have the same intensity as a regular season game. He might need to take it easy for this entire year and give his body time to grow. He's just 19 and he might be pushing his body to its limits.
