We should trade for Longo Bell
Injury prone player dealing with injuries. Nothing to see here.
taking advantage of this injury, I would like to start tomorrow with Demar, Marco, Bertans, Gay, Aldridge, I believe that without Dejounte it may be the best lineup we can put on the court
I'm not good but I am durable and a great locker room prescence
B-ball Gods want Forbes as starting PG.
You're going to have some tough compe ion vs Coyote.
Maddog 2018-19 MVP
Exactly, they have a likely player exception with both Murray and Walker out for a month plus. Not to mention Huestis is still recovering from that Jones Fracture, so they'll be down to 14 active, healthy bodies (if they retain Pondexter).
They need to dump Pondexter as quickly as possible. He's washed and finding help at the wing or PG is more imperative they keeping a charity case around.
Murray won't get an exception. I mean, they would be eligible a cap exception if they applied for it, but it would be for less than the min, and such a player could only be on a one-year deal. They don't get a roster exception for Murray, though. That's just a dead roster spot this season.
Damn and to think someone said before preseason we had too many guards on this team. Now we need point guards and small forwards or this team won't go far this season. Hope for the best.
I meant the injured hardship exception, not anything financially based, but it might be if you are down to 13 or 14 active players. If they waive Pondexter (which I pray, pray, pray they do) they'll only have 13 healthy, active players on the roster (not including camp invitees, Walker, Murray or such).
Apparently, they need 4 or more players injured for more than a week to qualify. So, they haven't reached that point. They should still dump Pondexter and look for better options at the 1 and 2/3.
Seems like they'll keep Quincy around for depth purposes even though it is clear as day he's no longer a capable NBA player.

Didn't know that about the DPE... Is the available $ so low bc they are near the luxury tax? I don't keep up with cap stuff. The injuries suck, but the inability to get help is also. It also frustrated me last season. Pondexter is a wasted spot.
Seems like the one player who needs more time running the PG before the season starts is now resting. Going to be a long season.
The exception is for half the salary of the injured player. The apron would be a factor if it where a player like LMA.
Well sounds like a good time to break away from Direct TV.

Should this happen then Pop's tank is rolling. The head coach of the USA team can't afford to be seen blatantly tanking. Fiddy starting is how he'll do it. Fiddy and Forbes as a backcourt and you know Pop is ing around.
^
No. people thought Spurs were tanking last season... sometimes there were odd lineups, odd choices to close out games, odd selection of rest games etc. Pop is still trying to win every game IMO. But cir stances change and injuries decimated the team and personnel changed. New season, new cir stances.

Yeah, but what about your uncle?

It's a truism that players don't willingly tank. Yet tanks happen all the same. This is the Spurs. In the end, it's Popovich's word that's final.
It's also a truism that roleplayers perform worse on the road. That defense is what a team falls back on when that happens. Defense is a discipline and because of that, defense travels. Well, have you given any thought on how many road games Fiddy and Forbes are going to win for this team?
If losses come swiftly enough that there’s no point trying to win (like too many losses to start the first half of the season to recover ground later) sure. I don’t think it’s going to happen intentionally though. If it happens it’s probably for the best at this point...
