They didn't think he was good enough. Now he can stay in Austin, pick up his bonus after 60 days and be called up by any team.
No idea why he was waived. Wondered if he had something going with an international team, but I haven't heard of him signing anywhere. Huestis replaced him then was waived, so the spot is still open. Maybe he was waived because Pop wanted to give other guys a chance at the 3/4 in the final PS games? The team played a relatively short rotation last night, so they don't need all 20 guys.

Lol no he wasn’t. Vastly undersized PF (doesn’t have a SF skillset) who can’t shoot the NBA 3 and does nothing above average. Good athlete, but nothing more. And he’s already 25. Not like there’s much upside there. I like the guy, he had a great at ude and was a team-first player, but that’s not enough to land you on an NBA roster.
Nailed it. He wasn't fast enough to play the 3 and not big or strong enough to be a 4. His shot is too slow for the NBA level and he doesn't really stand out in any other department. He is your stereotypical GLeague guy...can excel in the minor leagues but would look like a fish out of water in the majors.
Appreciate the info gents
Guess the fact that guys like him keep getting drafted by the Spurs and simply disappear without ever seeing a game.
Though in my memory only Dejuan Blair has ever made the roster as a 2nd round pick so I shouldn't be surprised.
Metu just this season tbh. Blossom is flawed and was a long shot but he didn’t look worse than Pondexter.
Manu was drafted so deep in the 2nd round that he was almost the first pick of the 3rd round
Absolutely that’s obvious. Off the top of my head, Davis was a 2nd round pick and so was DeColo.
Very disappointed to see him go, wish him the best. Danny Green was cut twice(Cavaliers, and Spurs). SO there is always hope.
