too many elite, good, even average pgs in this league to trot out a scrub like bryn for 30+ minutes a night. spur will have problem keeping even bad teams under 100

This is going to be a brutal 6-8 weeks without a PG and using undersized SG as replacements.
Even this homer fan is starting to wonder if the Spurs Curse is really happening.
The Spurs ran Mills, Green, Anderson, Aldridge and Gasol in many games last year. Won most of them. You can even argue that was when the team was peaking last season. I think they're going to win more games than people realize, though their ceiling is undeniably lower.

Green, Fathead, and LMA were all great to elite defenders though.

Yes, but DeRozan and Gay are better offensive players. It may not balance out all the way, but I don't think the lack of depth will lead to as many early losses as some fear. Now come December (the team's worst historic month), we could start really seeing issues.

Playing together will prolly mitigate their effectiveness considering both DDR and Gay like the same spots, and even LMA to the same extent. If all three (or even just one of them) were great three point shooters they could survive, but the lack of chemistry will really hurt (on top of the poor defense).

I think White/Forbes/Patty were going to play a lot of offball with DDR anyways so losing White isn’t the end of the world just yet, but obviously it sucks all our young guys with upside are out

Gay playing up a position would help a lot. I do agree about the risk of Gay starting and would still prefer it not to happen if I could be avoided. Using that 15th spot and two-way slot for a player. They may need both going forward. Gotta hope they find a solution for the PG with the two-way and wish they can cycle through SFs with the roster spot.

IF it is Plantar fasciitis it isn't a debilitating injury once healed. Typically occurs through over-pronation of the foot. Which at first feels like soreness in the heel an then arch of the foot. Once the foot warms up it goes away temporarily then flares right up much worse during activity. If goes untreated through various forms of rest, arch support, stretching exercises, Cort shot to reduce inflammation it can lead to heel spurs from the tendons in the arch of the foot pulling off chips of bones in the heel induce the heel pain.

That isn't a full technical description but a general description from early to worse. Simple rest, reduced activity of the arch stretching from the gait cycle of the foot from heel strike to push off of the forefoot will have it heal over time.

More than likely it involves a cortisone shot in the heel to reduce inflammation, customized inserts if they are not already wearing them in their foot wear, simple stretching techniques like frozen water bottles rolled underneath the arch of the foot, rubber band stretches. 6-8 weeks sounds about right. Considering the profession he can sit back an recuperate within that time frame easily. Those of us with real jobs that require us to pay bills an stand on our feet hours at a time the healing process becomes prolonged an reaggravated due to continued inflammation of the injury.

Hope that helps an isn't confusing. But I don't know if that is what he is suffering from. Just responding to a previous comment indicating plantar fasciitis.

Derrick White became the Spurs' latest to hit the injured list after tearing a ligament in his right heel, an injury coach Gregg Popovich said would keep the 24-year-old out for six to eight weeks.

Forbes is going to light it up, and become the next Curry. He is going to grab the starting PG job and never let it go.
    Haha thatd be hilarious.

I cant imagine what ST would do if he leads us to a winning record while white is out and actually does well.

Spurs guard Derrick White underwent an MRI examination last night in San Antonio that revealed a left plantar fascia tear. The injury occurred during the Spurs-Hawks preseason game on Oct. 10. A timeline for his return will be determined at a later date.

Left plantar fascia tear. Alleges out indefinitely. The 6-8 weeks may be a tough estimate could be more.

Whatever chance we had at elevating our ceiling went out the window officially w that injury. Lonnie, Murray, now White in consecutive games. In the preseason. Can’t make this stuff up man. It’s like all the excitement for this season is being sapped. Watching the youth grow is probably my favorite facet of watching the Spurs.

Based on the last game I think he'll be fine. He can score and looks improved from last year. He's not a PG but with derozan LMA, and likely Pau starting, the PG role was going to be small anyways.

Spurs are out players though and that leaves them vulnerable to getting overplayed and unfortunately injuries. It's not even worth mentioning defense bc they already made the choice to eschew defensive personnel in favor of shooters and that's what we will see for now.

At least Walker looks like he will be back sooner than initially projected.

Micro tear(s) are plantar fasciitis. Plantar fascia rupture would be if it is an aggressive tear, usually traumatic, which rarely happens. Without knowing the MR, its hard to say. But, it likely is indeed plantar fasciitis.

Just put the ball in DeRozan’s hands and put Forbes or mills off the ball. Dede has to play close to 40min a game

Three straight non-contact injuries in three straight preseason games to three straight first round draft pick guards. I've run out of PCs to toss.
