This team (despite the injuries) should still be better than last year. Having a player like DeRozan and hopefully a healthy Gay make such a difference.
DeRozan can sure score the ball man, with ease.

Same thing happened to me last game. Saw Metu out of the corner of my eye and I was like why TF is JR Reid in the game.

They should be better offensively, defense will be the biggest question.
I mean thats where we are as a league. Gotta be able to score the ball. The Rockettes were middle of the pack, but we saw where they were.
Obviously I hope the team defense strengthens over time , but offensively we should be able to stay in games.

People should take this game to see what an actually awful team looks like. The Spurs have a really low ceiling this year, but they aren't bad like Orlando is.
They still have enough talent to win some games so long as LaMarcus is healthy rest of the season.
To me, it's not "some games". They should win in the high-40s and make the playoffs still. They have two All-NBA players on their squad. You're right, things could go (more) wrong and get them a lottery ticket. But they're talent is better than most teams in the league still. Still.

Think so long as LaMarcus is healthy they have the best chance. Without him is for sure tank time IMO.
Edit: also worth noting that Walker and White will be back. Only Dijon is lost for the season. And at least they look ready to start well enough without the guys who are missing. I do feel better for the season.
(Still sad about Murray but what cha gonna do but move on?)

Sounds great.
Last season they lost against scrubs like Lakers and Atlanta. While they keep beating the teams they're supposed to beat and LMA/DD stay healthy, this is still a playoff team.

I'm afraid that's the main takeaway. But the team looked pretty good even factoring in the opposition.
Their chiling is 7 seed(long shot, probably 8 seed) and sweapt in the first round
