Almost going at 61% today. I’m giving him the green light to continue that.

He's getting a triple double eventually this season.

DDR is doing exactly what he needs to do for the team. There's hope.

I watched Derozan over the years and he was never really a dunker. When he came into the league he was definitely above average in terms of athleticism and on occasion he has the ability to throw down a big dunk but he isn't that explosive and prefers to rely on finesse and footwork. What Derozan has been great over the last 2-3 years is using crafty footwork posting up and getting to get to the basket. He also among the best in the league in using his body to absorb contact and draw fouls. This is why has been among the league leaders in free throw attempts over the years.

what's not to love about DD? he seems like a great teammate, motivates guys, finds people, smooth as on offense..he draws fouls and collapses the defense with his penetration.

i'll admit i never paid much attention to DD when he was in toronto but i'm really impressed with him so far.

The only knock on him is that he chokes during the playoffs but since the Spurs are not a contender right now it's a non issue.

Am I the only one who thought he played solid on defense also? I think his main flaw on D in Toronto was being out of position too often, something that Pop can easily fix

Nope. I thought he did excellent on defense. I haven't seen him play much yet but this game he looked like a different player on defense. Hopefully this trend continues. Last night's wing was very fun

I already like him a lot but adding a sure 3 points shooting would propel him to mvp tier and should open his game more.

Is this in a player's first 5 games with the Spurs, or is it for the first 5 games of the season?

Unfortunately, I think his shooting form needs to be changed for him to be a better/consistent 3 pointer shooter. Now that I've seen him play a few games, I think his form is the main reason he's not a consistent 3 point shooter. I could be wrong, but I don't think he can be one with that form. It's also not a great form if you're trying to shoot deep threes (Not much range with it, he's likely to be way off or even air-ball them).

To be honest there is definitely revenge factor at play, he is super motivated because of the trade/betrayal.

He is playing at 110% level and Kwahi is playing at 90% level IMO to start the season.

Let's see what happens after that raw emotion wears off.

Still it is super entertaining to have Kobe (may not be peak Kobe, but still) on your team!

I think DeMar is forced to playing at 110% with Dejounte and Derrick out. It isn't just revenge. I bet if those two were back to lessen the load on DeMar, DeMar could be more productive.

Demar is more productive being a playmaker.. if Murray comes back demar stats will go down..

I'm pretty sure, given the absence of other scorers, that DeMar is forced, well agrees, to carry the scoring burden.

i just hope he doesnt wear down. small sample size but he's averaging his most minutes per game in about 5 years and i don't think he's ever had this kind of offensive burden before...
