I don't get it, he's had two days off, but it is an away game, and so far the pattern is that he doesn't play in away games. Why would that be?

    Also, why is Giannis out?
Giannis is in concussion protocol. Kawhi is probably out because of the first game of B2B. Pop would have done the same thing. At this point, it's not even newsworthy. Don't push a guy who's missed nearly all of 2017-18.

First night of a b2b. Toronto saving Kawhi for the Sixers game.
Yea I know they play tomorrow. I wonder if this is how he's gonna have to be moving forward with him tho. He's supposedly 100% and lord knows he's had a ton of rest time. Plus they've been off the last couple nights

Toronto is playing tomorrow vs the Sixers. They are just resting him in one night of a b2b. The same thing Pop would do.

It's the same as if it would be under Pop. If the Spurs do it is smart, but if other teams do it you want to find something else?

lol no. He wasn't always rested on B2B's. I specifically said, I wonder if this is how it's going to be moving forward with him , as in, the rest of his career. I'm not exactly sure what you think I'm "trying to find"

When was the last time Kawhi played a b2b, when he was still a role player?

Basically Kawhi doesn't think that he is 100%. He is dominating the league right now and beasting the stat line, so this would be the perfect year to get the MVP. Only real threats are Giannis and AD and if Kawhi gets the 1 seed with the Raps, he would be the heavy favorite to win it IF he plays enough games. And at this rate he won't play enough games. The Raps have him on the Joel Embid schedule. I don't have a problem with that, it's smart on the Raptors front to save him for the playoffs.
BUT it does start to show that the Spurs original diagnosis and not the diagnosis the 8th doctor Kawhi saw, was on the money about the injury. Because in the off-season his people and his doctor said he was 100% healthy. So why rest?

So he’s resting 2 out of the first 7 games??

This is so odd I’m so many ways...So he’s either just on a pitch count on the side of caution..which will hurt/eliminate his MVP chances..IMO him potentially winning MVP helps Toronto to pitch him to stay.

Or he’s still not 100% and has his good days or bad days in health...which pretty much means Spurs were probably correct on the diagnosis....but also means he really wasn’t faking an injury but still makes him a by the way he handled things...

Does this hurt his pockets even more? If he bolts Toronto he loses money but if your an LA franchise do you pay him top max $$ if he plays mays 69 Games the past two seasons??

Also imo probably explains why SA didn’t offer super max...
He has no mileage like Lebron, Curry has weak ankles and is not resting every 2 games, Nowitsky/Duncan and millions like Vince Carter.
You cant be MVP by playing 50 games per season, also lots of guys have been doing better numbers.

When was the last time Kawhi played a b2b, when he was still a role player?
Well, he played 74 games during his MVP runner up year.

    https://www.basketball-reference.com.../gamelog/2017/

Games 3/4 were b2b and games 6/7 were b2b. He played all of those. Surely there are more that yr

You'll have to ask Kawhi and his group that question.

Didn't know they are playing tomorrow, so that makes sense he's sitting out the first game, especially if Giannis is out too.

I feel like if Kawhi resigns in Toronto, it makes the Spurs exit more painful because maybe something could've been worked out. Should he sign with an LA team in the summer (most likely) then it softens the blow a bit because that was Kawhi's plan all along and nothing the Spurs could do about it.

Just by virtue of this news, I'm happy with getting DD in return, who not only is a better leader and pretty much even on an offensive level (even better overall when considering his passing) but is more durable and therefore more dependable. Kawhi.

Kawhi and his camp don’t want to play back to backs. Toronto wants to suck his so he stays next year. Also Kawhi wants to keep 25 point average so he gets minimum all nba second team if not first so he can qualify for max extension.

That wouldn't make sense considering he's going to play against him at some point this season and in the playoffs. Can't avoid him forever
that has to be proven. Last time he played against him was 2 years ago. 1 knee to the thigh or a tweaked ankle can get this guy to sit out weeks. I believe it when I see it
