Jordan averaged 3.5 assists in his last season w/ the Bulls. Why would Kawhi pass when he's a 50/40/90 shooters unlike Kirby?
It's a shame we didn't get Siakam
also lol @ Kawhi stat padding

the most important facets of the game
I agree I don't think it's a big deal
He plays at a methodical pace & plays defense thus doesn't get as many easy/leak-out points than other scorers.
He's rubbing it in Pop-a-zits face
Is that you Ryan McDonough?
why compare an old Jordan to a prime kawhi? Prime Jordan knows how to pass..he averaged 8 assist once in his career..
comparing kawhi to chokewell and rapists is bull ,
look at those efficiency numbers by kawhi
look at him shut down a franchise player
at leasts he doesnt gamble on passing lanes like spree, or pretend to shut someone down and get reward 12 all defensive team selections...
he is more like kobe than Jordan and Lebron..
He was shaking in his boots every time he was matched up by Kawhi to the tune of 11 TOs & got bailed out by the refs after getting rejected at the rim.![]()
Something to note, Kawhi's +/- has routinely been the worst of the raps starting line up. I don't remember that being the case in SA.
Pop would have fouled and subbed Kawhi out to prevent him from getting 30.
This team with Kawhi will go far. I think they have a good chance of being the best team in the east.
He's the same ball-stopper he was in SA. The difference is that recently, SA really didn't have anything but ball-stoppers on their first unit. Without Leonard, the Raps still have dynamic perimeter play, a lot of shooters and rim-runners. It's not surprising to see their offense eat other teams alive when Kawhi's on the bench. People are still not appreciating how good Toronto is. They are easily the second-best team in the league with a real chance at beating GS. They may not use their talent fully, but if they do, it's insane.
And yes, Pop should have at least gotten ing Siakam.
They have a good team but they have had a bad habit of letting teams back into games.
That was the case in '16-'17 & their were article float around saying Kawhi was hurting the team's defense that season.:https://www.basketball-reference.com...vanced_pbp::11
Raw +/- is one of the dumbest stats out there as it doesn't take into account for the lineups of either team (Eric Gordon & Covington the top ranked players that season:https://www.foxsports.com/nba/stats?...0&opp=0&page=1)
It's disgusting. Masai is one of a gm.
Rockets won 65 games, so it's not shocking to see them occupy 4 of the top five spots. Covington looks more like an anomaly, but everyone else looks about right on that list.
+/- isn't perfect, but it is more than valid when looking on the surface for trends in line ups and then you can delve deeper.
At the end of the day what matters is NET rating & Kawhi is in 3 of the top 5 2-man combos including the top spot (Lowry isn't even in the top 3):
https://www.basketball-reference.com...eups_2-man_::3
His OBPM is also top 3 among rotation players so let's not act like he's dragging the team: https://www.basketball-reference.com...l#advanced::23
anyone notice his been driving alot/layups with his left hand instead of shooting hand??
Seems like he's bored & is working on his lefty finish during games![]()
Hes been doing that seems before..maybe that’s his style..
Locked down Simmons and gets an easy 31pts. Still dont like the Iso Kawhi pace though. I still favor DeStar’s offense + passing. Hope the team can get a new Kawhi level of defensive player on the next draft
We're guaranteed one next year...only not in the draft but by getting Murray back.
