Not likely. its obvious this team needs all its players. Gay has been the 3rd best out there. Not having him vs the Magic and Heat made a difference.

They had a chance to pull within 3 or 2 in the last minute or so and he took an ill-advised 3 instead. He should not get the green light in that situation...EVER.

yeah he seems to get excited and trigger happy right after he makes one shot. When you're down 2-3 possessions, you give the ball to your best proven player and live or die with it. Forbes needs to know his role and stop taking ill advised shots.

Pop pulls the "soft card" yet, the Spurs' toothless front office is one of the softest in the bussiness, getting bent over backwards by Ujiri in the offseason. I just wish the "soft" media had the balls to call him out on it.

After watching the game gotta say White showed enough promise at PG spot. In the second half off the bench, his decision making and ability to make pinpoint passes was on full display.

Pop shouldnt have throwen him into the fire as a starter and why mess with Derozans current role on the team?. At Sf Derozans impact was somewhat nullified.

Yup. I think if Rudy stays with bursitis it’s tank season. Lamarcus doesn’t look like he did last season. Too early in the season to say, and there’s injuries but I won’t cry if it’s tanking season.

But, then again, the Spurs "don't do trades". Especially not after the Kawhi drama. Too much turnover too soon. They'll continue to settle on mediocrity if it means barely making the playoffs and selling just enough tickets to stay afloat.

It really feels like the goal of contending every year is over. Of course, you can't win every year, but you can try. Doubling down on the Mills, Gasols, Forbes, and Rudy Gays of the world isn't indicative of a FO that is looking to compete at the highest level.
