White is 25 and played college basketball. I think he would look the same if he played consistent NBA minutes last year. It's just Pop not wanting to play rookies, cause it wouldn't be fair to the 40-year olds he keeps on the team
It was weird that he played so little and Pop seemingly gifted minutes to Forbes despite White looking every bit as good as him last year.

Spurs now have a 3-game road trip at Sacramento, at PHX, and at LAC, before coming home to get their butt-holes reamed by the Warriors next Sunday.
Spurs better go 3-0, cause the Schedule starts to get tough starting with that GSW game.

LaMarcus Aldridge now has 107 career games with 25+ points and 10+ rebounds. Only players with more since he was drafted in 2006: A. Davis, Cousins, Durant, Love, James.
he would have more if he looked in the mirror before every game and realized that he's 6'11 260 instead of 6'7 220

, Spurs should be 9-2 now. And 12-2 after that road trip. Then they could have lost all the games they wanted.

    ESPN tidbit :

Spurs: Bryn Forbes finished with 13 points. Forbes has scored double figures in nine of 11 games this season. The only other Spurs player to top that in his first three seasons was Tim Duncan, who had 10 in 1998.

    GOAT 2.0 tbh

Rockets in talks with Carmelo Anthony over his role on team

    Adrian Wojnarowski ESPN

The Houston Rockets and Carmelo Anthony are discussing his role with the team and how the franchise and the 10-time All-Star forward still might be able to proceed together for the rest of the season, league sources told ESPN.

Anthony signed a one-year, $2.4 million veterans minimum contract with Houston after agreeing to a buyout with the Atlanta Hawks before the season.

The Rockets would be responsible for paying the 34-year-old Anthony that contract should the team decide to waive him.

I knew Carmelo wouldn't fit in with the Rockets.

His overall game just doesn't suit their style of offense.

If they were smart they would just cut bait and release him.

If he were smart, he should just retire or play overseas.

Don’t get me wrong Carmelo is terrible but I think teams need to really tamper that expectations with him.. On OKC he was suppose to be the 3rd star, now Houston 3/4th star on the team, Carmelo should never be replied upon to be one of the better players on the team.

Missed this game as I was traveling. Will probably catch up on it tomorrow. Glad to see White bounced back, and it sounds like Forbes stepped it up.

For everyone acting like the Spurs are headed straight to the lottery...we are currently a half-game ahead of the "East Champions Apparent" and far more talented Celtics in this short part of the season, and one game behind in the loss column for 2nd in the West...all while dealing with a slew of injuries.

Obviously, a long way to go and the averages will probably regress to the means, but...something for a little perspective. The only teams really running away with things now are the Warriors and the Raptors.

You can say the same for the Grizzles who at least have wins over teams with a .500 or better record & aren't feasting on mediocrity

I find that stat hard to believe. Surely TP has done that in his first 3 years on the Spurs?

I wanted to say after watching the game on NBA league pass (I couldn't watch it live), Bryn needs to learn that he can pass the ball when driving inside. He doesn't need to jack up a shot every time he drives inside. I love that he's driving inside and trying to finish, but he doesn't have too shoot it every single time he gets in there. I thought he took a few too many bad shots when driving inside and DeMar a few too little. Then again, maybe it would have been a turnover if Bryn had tried passing off the dribble, so maybe him chucking up a shot was better as the team would still have a chance to offensive rebound it.

Great game from Derrick White. I really like how he played on both ends. Now I just want him to stay healthy and for Lonnie to come back soon and stay healthy too. I also want the Spurs playing LWIV. I don't want him spending time in Austin except for rehab reasons.

They were on a similar pace last season, schedule got tougher and they ended up barely making the playoffs
