To hater’s point, I can’t discount the Dems majorly ing up. Not the people, the party. Shillary shoulda heard the message when she got destroyed by a young senator nobody really knew. As long as she’s ‘waiting for her turn’, that party is ed and un able.
The main reason Avenatti is bad news for the Dems is that he’ll be playing Trump’s game against Trump. It’s playing right into his hands, IMO
I agree, they need to embrace Socialism and go all the way. OTOH Hillary tried to lump herself in with the recent attack on the Electoral College but she really needs to embrace the anti-Capitalism/Cons ution doctrine that we see being taught at the Universities and on late night television.

You are implying that I have a distorted view of Socialism, and that "common folk" including "leftys" know the real stuff. You have already acknowledged that it will be a slow roll out without realizing it. The old guard was really good at disguising it with linguistics and politically correct proper pro-nouns. Everything the Democrats offer is forbidden fruit appealing to the eye, but deadly upon consumption.
I predicted Kamala Harris or Cory Booker to lead the charge some time ago, but recent investments in to the Beto campaign are very interesting to me.
There was nothing implied in my post. People with different political leanings have different ideas of what encompasses socialism (or any other political topic, really). ie: a lefty might think Venezuela or Cuba of the 80s is the model to follow. A guy on the center will object to that, but not classify something like Medicaid as socialism. Then conservatives will likely have a very different view on that too. Some of the more hardcore conservatives will equate socialism with communism, which are really two different things altogether.
I wanna see how the Pelosi story unfolds. I expect her to be the majority leader at the end, but the push-back could be interesting, especially if outside groups get involved.
