Amazing how ing often this head sits out. Never ever plays any back to backs, and even earlier in the season with two days off he apparently needed some rest. He is the most fragile 27-year-old in the league..

Yeah it's funny it was like topic #1 here. KAWHISO.

hes a great individual player but he does not excel at making plays for others. Hes made plays for others but its not his forte.

Hes just an outstanding 1 on 1 player but it limits the team to an extent.
It's been more evident this year because he's nowhere near as good as he was for the Spurs as a 1-on-1 player and his 3-point shot is broken..

I didn't mind when he did it with SA due to the lack of alternative options + how dominant he was as a 1 on 1 scorer..

this really isn't playing back to backs.
I hope he doesn’t expect to be in any serious consideration for league MVP, if he plans on missing roughly 20 games just because he needs rest.

What's surprising is the amount of Raptors fans that have been surprised by Kawhi's 1 on 1 style of basketball and limited passing ability I guess they hadn't watched the Spurs in years and thought this team still had passers and ball movement in Pop's magic system..
I got banned on realgm for telling the raptors fans that Kawhi Leonard is an ISO player who can't pass. They seriously thought they were getting a Michael Jordan with LeBron James passing and Kobe Bryant mamba mentality. Now 20% are turning on him. It's only a matter of time before everyone turns on him.

Why play him when they keep beating the crap out of teams when hes out.

I'm curious though, is he on the bench at least to support his teammates?
He hasn't been on the bench once. Never seen anything like this before.

Yeah, the Spurs are really doing great without his ball hogging tendencies.

Was watching the Raps play the Celts yesterday and noticed how Kawhi lost some lift and purely relies on length to his shot off. He’s become an outstanding individual player but what a ing ballhog though.

Or they were under the false impression that he's a better facilitator/playmaker than he is.

But, I'm sure pinning his inability to create for others (even at his very best he was only subpar) on the Spurs system makes more sense. At his best he is an iso/mid/high post area scorer with limited playmaking ability, much like DeRozan, but he has far superior physical tools, a higher BBIQ and better range.

DeRozan has actually become the better ball handeler and playmaker, yet I think a lot of Raptors fans believed Kawhi could reproduce similar assist totals. Clearly, they got the better player but I still think his subpar playmaking, Iso heavy offense and their limited (offensive skill wise) role players will get them bounced in the 2nd round (maybe conference finals).

Nah, I think the Spurs are doing bad without him, Green, Anderson, Murray, Walker (their) and so on.

Seems like losing a lot of guys at once and having injuries will up team chemistry, dilute your talent pool and negatively effect your win - loss record.

I'm sure we'd do better with all the "ST armchair GM's" running the show, though.

Incoming pointless insult laden comeback with no substance in 3.......2.......1.........

Agreed. If you look at even last year the Spurs were a better defensive team with Green,Anderson,Dejounte. Spurs essentially lost 3 good perimeter defenders in Green,Anderson,Dejounte and were not able to replace them.

4 scrubs tbh. And as I said, Kawhi was the system. The 7-7 record speaks for itself.

Stamina wise he’s probably at about 80-85% right now. I’ve seen him look gassed numerous times this season. Come late December/January I expect him to start going off.

I honestly think the front office is thinking that Dejounte was going to have a breakout season and be a star defender and overall player (I think that's honestly fair expectations.) With him at PG I think they thought White/Walker would eventually replace Green's impact. And I'd even go as far to say the front office might have thought Bertans could become somewhat of the defensive player Kyle is. Slow, kind of a tweener, but with enough length to give guys a fit on defense (although I'd say Kyle is a good bit stronger.) Obviously Dejounte missing the season screwed the whole plan up and I don't think anybody would have really been prepared for that happening, but the other options just haven't worked out. MAYBE White will figure it out, I think the talent's there he's just not quite there yet. Walker has been hurt as well so we don't really know what we're going to get out of him. Bertans hasn't been good for the most part but he's had a couple of games where he's shown he's capable but obviously that's not enough. I don't think either Cunningham or Pondexter were meant to be rotation players though and Cunningham starting has been rough even though he's given effort. We have a lot of room for internal improvement this season though, White/Bertans need to play better (obviously Aldridge, but I'm talking more about guards and wings and role players) and hopefully we'll get a player out of Walker when he's healthy if he's not sent to the g league. Also I think we assumed we were going to finally get a somewhat athletic rim protector in Poeltl and so far that hasn't worked out. I think we need to really work with him to figure that out.

You are really, really dense if you believe 4 NBA caliber players (three of which were drafted in the 1st round) are "scrubs." Are they limited offensively? Yes, but 3 of the 4 were our best perimeter defenders last season and the other is the team's highest drafted player since trading for Kawhi.

Walker also has starter, possibly all-star, potential and raw talent, but continue to heap too much praise on the traitor instead.

I'm surprised some of y'all did run off to Toronto with "The System," since ya'll don't seem to enjoy rooting for the Spurs.

I'm wearing my raps jersey as I type this. I'll give you Green but KA is a scrub and DJ is a bit overrated. And tbh we don't know what we have in Walker yet. And while the defense is bad I'm still putting most of this .500 start on that bum LMA.

Yeah for real if LMA was shooting to his career average FG% we'd be 9-5 right now.

Didn't know that Kawhi was struggling from 3? I knew he had a hot start in that area. Only at 34.0% right now, apparently.

I keep on telling Raptors fan Kawhi is an ISO player. The difference between him and demar is that hes a more dominant iso scorer and hes got game intangibles.

They're like.." brah hes a top 5 player..stop your nonsense".

Im like yeah sure hes a top 5 player but thats how he plays basketball.
