Can't believe people thought the Warriors were a lock to win this. They don't get that the Warriors are a more-than-the-sum-of-their-parts team. Take away Curry and Green and they're obviously in trouble.

I can’t wait for Walker to get back. His ceiling is light years higher than Forbes white and Mills obv. I think this kid can make an instant impact. A lot of people are sleeping on him because he’s been out this season but this kid is smart and can play, and oh wait athletic. Something 98% of this team doesn’t have.

It shoudln't matter that Cury and Draymond are out since everyone claims that Durant is a top 10 player all time. Freeloading ass . We get to see the real Durant when he's not surrounded with 2 guys that can get you 40 or 50 on any given night. And that is nothing more than a great scorer that makes no one better around him and can't play defense worth .
Agree. I really thought Spurs had a great chance before Murray went down and everyone healthy. Murray could slow down Curry, likewise Gay on Durant, Demar on Thompson. LMA can backdown Draymond. Until Boogie gets healthy but you don’t know if he’s a positive addition. But well, Dubs same swuad will not be together next year with their salary situation and recent drama.

    smh
also pisses me off when he tries to play hero ball after he sinks one shot. Belineli is getting there too. belineli and Forbes combined 9-27 smh
I hate them shooting too much also especially Marco’s floating 3’s. But those are necessary evil to open up lanes for Demar/LMA.

Forbes dribbling for 15 seconds and shooting a fadeaway is not really the best available option. He has those tendencies after he makes 1 shot. Next time watch Forbes make a shot only to take 2-3 heat checks.

And as for belineli.. I have never ever seen him take a normal jumpshot. The guy flails in mid air and does some stupid scissor kick when not even necessary. No wonder he's shooting 35%

Belineli is averaging 2 less shots than DeRozan PER36 minutes. Let that sink in.

There was that time when Dubs had the run and Belli took that moving 3 shot. I was like, “what the... oh great shot.”. We know that very well with Manu

When DeMar was just a rookie. Belineli played a big role on the raptors and let me say, he never took those re ed looking shots. I remember him taking good set shots. What on earth possessed someone to twist and twirl in mid air shooting a basketball lmao

I'm also scared everytime Belineli takes more than 2 dribbles. You know it's going to be either a big scissor kick jumpshot or a turnover.

Spurs are an average team ... when they were great and Pop rested Tim/Manu they still beat average teams on the road ... that is what made them awesome and that will always distinguish that dynasty (yes) from the garbage that is GS

GS on a 3 game losing streak... THey should tank tbh, what's thev point living in mediocrity.

THeir FO sucks, Walton was the real brain behind Kerr.

White's fine tbh. Pop just keeps jerking his role around to the point he has no idea what he's supposed to be doing. Hopefully at this point Pop keeps him coming off the bench in the Manu role and closing games when needed.

Good win but the Warriors have 2 all-stars playing now instead of 4 (5 if Boogie comes back). So they are beatable for now.

They shouldn’t be. Kevin Durant is top 10 all time. remember?

Warriors roster is really, really bad outside of their top 4..Iguodala and Livingston are finished as consistent contributors, the rest of their team is nothing.

Their health will be more important than ever, they need all 4 to play, unlike in previous seasons..

Manu should have joined them IMO..
I don't follow the Warriors or their narratives from year to year but I noticed this team is more shallow than previous versions of themselves (granted they don't have Cousins yet and we don't know how he will look, etc.) But outside of their big 4, they currently just have a bunch of non-shooting bigs, athletic energy players who fit well when they have all their horses, but without them are just another NBA joe. Ttheir best backup player was Q.Cook. Let's think about that for a moment.

Still had Lamarcus continued with poor play the Spurs could have easily surrendered this one too. He had been that bad in prior games.

On a sidenote: mileage and wear/tear is ac ulating on Curry. He played just 51 games last season and this season that just started, he already has nags. Those continuous deep playoff runs take a toll too.

P.S. I don't care to have seen Manu in a Warriors uniform and I am glad he retired a Spur...

Rudy is definitely not about that tank life.
He definitely didn't join to be tanking... Should the Spurs go that path I think it's fair to say he wouldn't sign back and all three of him, LMA and Demar would be disgruntled. A trio of veterans wouldn't be about det tank life.

The Spurs ought to be reevaluating their support players if they continue to struggle.

btw I have not heard any good news about Gasol's status.

It might just be aging with Gasol tbh. Timmy Duncan's last season he had soreness in his one remaining good knee and per RC Buford, they never were able to calm it down. Timmy actually played through quite some pain his last season and then retired bc his knee was basically done. It's possible the concern with Gasol is similar in terms of aging and mileage affecting him.

In order for the Spurs to tank successfully this season, they would need to start sooner than later and that's no exceptions. If you tank, you gotta tank the proper way and that's to finish 13-15th seed in the west. If you look at the east standings, half of the teams are clearly tanking because of Zion Willamson and RJ Barrett. I'm a huge fan of Zion Willamson and think that he's going to be a generational superstar.

If you told me right now that we have a good chance to take him in the draft, I would go all out this year by trading LMA and have Forbes and belineli start games.. Ultra tank move almost guaranteed to succeed :P let DeRozan take 30 shots a game and he'll be happy because his stats will be inflated like Kobe in 2006 or Tmac in 2003.

A disgruntled LMA is fine and we can live with that because he's simply a declining all star at this point. DeRozan on the other hand is loyal and understands that sometimes sacrificing now for a better future is better.

Like I said, some teams had a good head start tanking this year and the longer the Spurs "evaluate" the situation, the harder it will be to get a top draft pick.

Deep down I want to see the Spurs play in the playoffs this year and watch DeRozan erase his playoffs stigma. On the other hand, Zion Williamson is going to destroy people. He's already faster, stronger, more athletic than most nba players, and he's only 18.

The Spurs aren't going to tank. They'll lose lots of games, but not from lack of trying.

We need Belineli to learn those skills as that might be his ceiling at this point.
